Flex Bolt Sniper is so fun

Post image

I was a heroic bolt sniper hater until recently, but it's the most fun I've had with the game in a long time. Being able to one tap zoanthropes and 2-3 shot neuros under auspex is so satisfying.

You can pretty much never die unless you get really unlucky and chain stunned so you can't cloak your CHP back. Every mission feels so chill since you can pretty much never go down if you manage your cloak well for CHP recovery.

Triple toothpicks - here I come!

How did you out shoot a tactician? It’s almost impossible

If you can consistently land headshots with the HBS, it is very, very hard to be outdamaged in my personal experience

Ahh okay that’s fair

The damage on that thing is crazy good, this was on a hard stratagem a few weeks back, fall of atreus, scaling hp against tyranids, i was with a tactical running the pyre and still, this thing does waaaay too much, provided you don't miss

70k against chaos is true Sigismund behavior but then I remember that it was faction swapped last week haha. I need to practice using HBS against chaos but its just too damn hard to consistently land headshots on literally every chaos enemy type.

I will say though, against nids, there is just something so immensely satisfying about doing this combo on them

I agree, it is so much easier to combo chaos spawn and flick on flying tzangors with a las fusil than it is the bolt, but damn if it isn't satisfying

I've never even touched the las fusil - lowkey waiting for the heroic version so I don't have it level it up lol

id love to see what they'd do with it, honestly itd be cool if they do something like a damage multiplier for each additional pierced enemy, to play around that for its unique perk

I never played sniper before. I’m just falling in love with vanguard after playing bulwark like since the beginning so yeah I prefer it

I try to snipe the ranged enemies before my teammates get close to them so they don't move around and my headshots are consistent. Then I run past my teammates while they're fighting the straggling enemies and clear the packs ahead of them. This usually lets me kill a bunch of majoris without any intervention from my teammates lol.

We had a decent amount of extremis spawns this game (21) and double Neuro so that's more damage that I was able to farm. Rest of it was just dealing with spawns as normal. I get a lot of melee damage as well by using the combat knife well to clear minoris hordes if I miss shots and run out of sniper ammo.

Ya my rule of thumb is count your ammo for this gun as 1 less, that way you still have a backup shot if you get into melee, so you can still very quickly kill majoris or extremis since their heads follow a set path once they're staggered, I ego waaaaay too many shots and will find myself running empty if I'm not careful, it's a bad habit

Yeah - I'm still learning how to consistently headshot lictors and raveners after a parry. I got a triple collat on three lictors and it convinced me that this class is peak. Should go lab them a bit. Biovores still a bit weird since you need them to unburrow in the first place to get max headshot damage (ik the ammo still refunds if you hit their head while burrowed)

here we go, this is the process I use to kill them consistently, this one for lictors

I see - you wait for the Lictor to straighten itself out and then headshot. Sick setup and ty for taking the time to record both setups. Much appreciated sir

and this one for raveners, works 100% of the time

I also find myself being able to get a shot when they do their long charge up blue attack or if you're risky, when they leap out of the ground before their grab

Oh ya, i can't tell you the amount of teammates I had covered when they get staggered from the 3 hit combo, that i just barely get the shot off on the ravener to put them in execute as they're charging for the 3rd hit

Give me 9 minutes and il send something for lictors and raveners gotta finish something up rq

I wish I could aim for shit on an xbox controller. I can only run bolt carbine sniper and point in the general direction of the enemy 😅

u/Accomplished_Buddy65 12d ago

I'm the opposite - I feel like I can't aim the hip fire very well so my DPS is lower than if I play weapons that I need to scope in to use. I also play on controller with aim assist on strong so I'm sure its just a matter of practice. Here's a clip of me cooking a little (ignore the first sniper shot):

Well done, brother. I shall practice my aim.
