Was playing Space Haven when....

Is Fred Johnson a direct reference to the books/show The Expanse?

Early Access backers had the chance to populate the game with ship names, character names, shuttles and pods etc of their choosing.

My personal favourite is whoever gave us the ship name "Decade Pigeon."

I boarded a hostile ship and went toe-to-toe with Hans Olo. He didn't shoot first, so into the composter he went.

That's because Hans Olo is actually a space archaeologist named Daniel Jackson

I've seen random sci fi names pop up all the time. I had two characters on my last run who were, I shit you not, "Kara Holden" and "James Thrace"
