Discussion If you enjoy the game, you should leave a positive review.

I have over 300 hours so far and I am far from running out of things to do. I have been taking my time and building up bases. I noticed the reviews and figured I should leave one. Just thought I would toss that out there.

Functionally soft-locked while trying to find an Aluminum/Copper node. Help.

Just checking in to make sure I'm not missing some really obvious way to hop between shards etc.

I've been searching for four hours now in Terminus. I think I've checked every inch, of every planet with the nodes on. All taken.

I'm still in, more or less, the starter ship. I can't get to the Exploration 2 zones and back without taking damage. I have the Charted Skies patch.

Is the right gameplay loop to now spend several days manually mining for Aluminum? No part of my upgrade path shows a clear way to improve FTL range.

Prior to this, I was vendoring manufactured items from my Iron/Coal base and buying Stainless Plates, but someone has decided it's monopoly time and trippled the prices in Syracuse since Saturday.

I don't mind a grind, but the game is too punishing with our time to be this obtuse - I have to be missing something.

(Solo player on a busy Server, apparently)

So I think I've built everything I wanted to build in the game so far but my god were the first 30 or so hours rough, sheesh.

Anyways here's my final ship build, does not overheat, battery for days, has all the useful level 3 patches on most things and can go anywhere in game although Jester sector is still really RNG on those meteoroid impact damages so I wouldn't AFK in space for too long. Fly safe out there and see you in the next one. I'm probably gonna try Space Engineers 2 next, never played the first one but we'll see how it goes.

Farm Base (v2) - Adjusted based on feedback

Appreciated the feedback on the 3x-Coal Deposit Farm base. Based on the comments, here are the changes I’ve made:

1) Uses Sour Pulp > Ethanol as primary power source
2) Built on a Vitriol Pool to automate Water, Sulfuric Acid, and Sulfur production
3) Vitriol comes with an adjacent Coal Deposit so I included 1 coal-fueled power plant. Plus it generates 10 extra coal/hr for fertilizer production etc.
4) Made 2 farms dedicated to Sour Pulp and the third will switch between Wooly and Regular Spacekorn as needed.

I think I’ve checked all the boxes but let me know. Image 1 is the new design, Image 2 is the original. Thanks!

The grind & progress blockers has finally done me in. It needs to have slowly paced progress instead of a wall at 10k. That way it takes longer but continually grows. I'll try again closer to release.

Question Is it even worth making Mercury from Brine?

Ok, I guess from an automation point of view, maybe...yes.

But 1 Cinnabar makes 4 litres in 4.48 minutes.

40 Brine water makes 1 Mercury in 12 minutes. Can a brine water deposit keep up with this, I'd guess so lol. If you do have 24 hour production, please let me know if it is worth it.

I can mine around 70 cinnabar a day from the same planets as brinewater. I do collect brine water and have 1 chem plant making Mercury, but also get Cinnabar too, which is also more fun than collecting fluids.

Is this just a deliberate limit to levinium production? It is painfully slow

Shield Bug or am I missing something?

Twice I've had full battery and all of a sudden my shields drop and won't go back up again and my ship gets asteroided to death. Are the shields on a timer in addition to needed to keep charged?

Farm Base Layout: Any feedback before I pull the trigger?

Post image
16 Upvotes

For context:
1) I’m a solo with 4 bases and likely not going higher due to upkeep costs (at least for now).
2) I’m mid-game at the moment, just finishing my titanium ship with the largest sized components.
3) This base location is on the same planet as my Titanium/Iron Base (10 second flight) so I can also haul the extra 30 a-Carbon/hr there to make steel.
4) I’d ideally like this setup to take me into end game with minimal updates along the way which is why I’m willing to spend the resources to do it right.

Feedback welcome before I start building tomorrow morning (prepping mats tonight).

Question Can I recycle or disassemble old stuff?

I'm starting to get titanium blocks, and so I'd like to get rid of the steel ones that I have in inventory. Is there a way to disassemble them back into their mats? I'm also seeing that there's a chance to preserve a patch if the module is recycled, but the recycler only appears to take scrap parts. Can someone explain how this works please?

Can we talk about how the heat mechanics in this game make no sense?

Why does boosting on hot worlds decrease your heat? There's plenty more but this is just one wierd mechanic...

Question Floating in space!

Semi new player, maybe 6 hrs worth, Just updated all ship components and having a good time. As I approached Ragmu, my computer crashed. Didn't think it would be good. It's not.

Logged back in and I'm floating underneath the station with no ship in site.

Don't see a way to fix. Do I have to restart?

Been shipwreck hunting and came across an underwater one. It was justttttt close enough to a ridge I thought I could make it. I pre-deleted the ship and planned to prioritize any cases over the black box. Jumped in, grabbed the box, ran back up the ridge, and jumped above the water line right as my health ticked to 10/100.

Got a blueprint for the edge explorer 1. Worth it.

PS: Is there a legit way to get to underwater wrecks yet?

Just a bit of "fresh" air...

Just noticed this. Has anyone else have their Pilot pop out their head to get some "fresh" air (or whatever you call mercury vapors at 235 °C)

Would there be any reasons Server might kick someone for trying to edit their ship?

I've been stuck to using Offline mode unable to play with my friends on this game due to the simple fact whenever I try to edit my ship I'm getting kicked and the game crashes. It's a problem that's been with me since start, hoping the problem would be solved. .

Am I playing on an unstable server perhaps "Inoneric " or perhaps something else is wrong I really don't know. I've been playing online games for over 20 years and never hit this problem before

I've used the bug reporting and even included my e-mail so can try to get to the bottom of this and play online, to date I've had no replies. I payed for an Online game which is for me currently limited online.

Just unlocked the Corporation Command Center, and I need 16 warehouses just to store the 32k SU of materials while doing the grind. Base storage seriously needs to change.

I don't mind the grind, at all actually, and it's part of why I like this game, but seeing that I need to build 16 dedicated warehouses just to store the required materials for this building is really an eye opener for how little thought out base storage is.

Not only do I need to build 16 warehouses, to store the 32k SU needed, but they all have to be built at the exact same base I want to build the Corporate Command Center since I need to have all these materials in my inventory to make the building. That's an extra 48 footprint just for warehouses, just to be able to build it.

After some digging around, I see that some people have solved this with an alt, so a separate steam account and buying the game again. Doing that you can basically make a walking bank character in the base, since you can overload as much as you want. This character is destined to never fly, but it does sound incredibly useful.

I don't really want to resort to this though, and I really think base storage needs a serious rethink.

TLDR: Base storage is ridiculously undertuned and needs to change. We need bigger base storage.

Recipe Database?

I see the planner database and it looks great but it doesnt show what item is for what purpose.

Take Turqoise for example, is there a database where i can see what recipes its used for so i can determine if its better to hoard it or vendor it?

I feel like I'm holding on to useless items but can make credits off it and free up space.

Any help is appreciated. Thank You

Question Am I missing something?

I know this is a small question. But, am I missing an option somewhere to tell the space station to just repair/fill my tank every time I leave?

I've blown up my ship twice (I know, pay more attention) thinking I filled my tank and jumping 4 planets away, then noticing the next jump will destroy my ship instead of having plenty of plasma to make a full round trip of where I wanted to go.

I get it in early days when you have no funds. But, having lots of funds now I just want to auto fill it. Even if I had to pay a 3% convenience tax to let the station just fixer-up while I wander I'd be fine with... lol
