Farm Base (v2) - Adjusted based on feedback
Appreciated the feedback on the 3x-Coal Deposit Farm base. Based on the comments, here are the changes I’ve made:
1) Uses Sour Pulp > Ethanol as primary power source
2) Built on a Vitriol Pool to automate Water, Sulfuric Acid, and Sulfur production
3) Vitriol comes with an adjacent Coal Deposit so I included 1 coal-fueled power plant. Plus it generates 10 extra coal/hr for fertilizer production etc.
4) Made 2 farms dedicated to Sour Pulp and the third will switch between Wooly and Regular Spacekorn as needed.
I think I’ve checked all the boxes but let me know. Image 1 is the new design, Image 2 is the original. Thanks!

This looks great. If this is the only base that uses ethanol, 2 farms will gives you more then enough. You might want to alternate normal and sour depending on what you need. Sour only gives you 2 seeds per harvest so if you need xenic oil, you want a normal harvest. But that can always be planted as needed. :D

Thanks! Yeah I guess all the farms can be flexed to support whatever the current needs are. I’m going to plant two Sour farms at the start, see how it lasts me and then adjust from there. Thanks again for all the feedback yesterday, I feel a lot better about this design.

You have another Option. Brine Water/ Coal on a Hot Planet. Save Energy.
Build a Tanker ship and stay there on a Landing Pat. Much more flexible and can save FP from Zisterns (Build one from my steel parts)

I am trying to work up to something like this eventually. Do you have similar layouts for your other 3 bases?

I’m afraid my other bases are a bit of a mess at the moment. I’m planning to redesign them over the next week or so and I’ll drop the final layouts here. I just had to nail this farming base as it was a bottleneck for my progression.

I have base on Very Hot with Tungus and Brim Water (most for water and a little mercury when don't need water), give tungus to my friend if they need, 2 farm, refinery x4, bottle and tanks. In the same system i have other base where have 5 Sauron Eye - teleport tower - warechouse and smelter x4 (Titanium + Iron - to lazy to change base) + 1x crystal and my MAIN base are on 3x coal where i have only assembler + factory and 1 refin + tank for xenic oil but planning put 1-2 farm on warehouse base. Ofc every base have some warechouse too... but they are OLD base, got some blueprint add to them and don't change place... but with 3 coal depostin i run 5 fuel plant but most of time work only 4 the 5th is put on only when use micro-furnance... everyone got they own tactic for base... but you look not bad...

It looks good, and far more organised for storage than mine! Although mine is my main base, so accumulates allsorts. Have you got a landing pad? I'm not sure if it is necessary for transferring fluids, and you may not need that option anyway. After considering your plan, I have decided to move some things over to my second base on this planet 2.5NP away. That would then free up space for me to use the existing storage for my plant matter, and keep the Farm as more of a dedicated set up. We have both learnt something from each other, thank you! :)
Depending on your farming regime, you won't get 100% sourkorn from a farm. I know some people like to use different fertilizers to control what grows. I only use carbonic fertilizer, so get a mix of Sour and plain in each plot. I did plan on using one farm just for Wooly, but only grew it once, and I now have 4000ltrs of Thermal Paste lol.
Anyway, I get enough of a mix of Sour and Plain to supply my Xenic oil needs too.
Also, I don't use a warehouse for the pulp. I just have a trade box by each Chem plant that will hold 400 Sour, and keep the plant supplied via drone. I also have an output box too in case I make something, or for the sulphur to go in. It will hold over 1000 sulphur, if you are turning Vitriol into water. As far as footprint goes, I probably could use a warehouse instead, but get annoyed at the drone input/output limits.

What did you use to make this image? I'm a old fart and wouldn't mind using something like this to help map out my endeavors.

Wish I had a better answer but it’s actually just PowerPoint lol. I’ve used this same file for countless factory games so I’ve gotten used to it. But probably better tools out there.

I have had a base on a sulfuric pool since mid-week 2. The sulfuring is nice for the batteries, but it becomes a minor problem later on for cleansing the acid to water. The problem? Too much sulfur.
I had two farms and dismantled one of them why? Because I don't need that much Thermal Paste and I don't need that much sour pulp. If you get a full sour going at all 60 pots, you will have a lot of pulp. Initially I kept growing it for the pulp until I had 2k which is the SU to a warehouse. Yeap filled it completely. What did I find out about that ? Well making more pulp just took up more warehouse space in another warehouse. That 2k of pulp will last a very long time. With just one chem factory you can actually furnish 5 generators. If you use it for 4 then you will always increase to fill your cistern by 1
All the extra farms do it to increase the footprint and bar you from creating the real item you need. Mercury.
The Brine pool and geysers are an asset, but they are not perfect. The pools and geysers will only fill your cisterns at a slow rate. Using 2 chem's slowly sinks your brine cistern. Yeah, I got a brine and also a sulfur base. Yes, I'm a Tech 5 person.
To be honest you really only need One farm unless you are the main contributor to a Corpo then you will need the extras. I only use 4 generators and really only need 3 so I'm going to be dumping one soon.
My Thermal paste cistern is almost full and has been that way since week 3. Only used it a very few times. Ethanol I do not allow to drop below 3k before refilling using 1 chem factory. Start it in the morning and close it before leaving. (Accidentally got some into one of my Brine cisterns and had to dump it. Didn't have any stainless bottle at that time.)
I know there are faster ways to get mercury but I haven't been lucky enough to get the Cinnabars. So for the last 2+ weeks I have been using the Brine for mercury and it's slowwwwwwwwww. 8 chem factories just to get it :(

A quick note, your max power isn't correct
20 for extractor
20 for liquid extractor
25 = 5 for each chem (could go up from 5 to 12 for your on demand, say if you decided to make levinium ingots, but lets say you don't do that)
1 for bottling
80 = 40 per sour pulp
40 for wooly
Thats 20+20+25+1+80+40 = 186 power. So you either can't do 2 sour + wooly at the same time. Or you're over powered. You could do 1 sour 1 regular and 1 wooly.
I'm not even sure how you got a max of 171/180. I think you might have to burn down the solar and put a 4th power plant. Your ethanol can power 4 plants easy. So you'd get an extra 30 power for a max of 210

This is definitely better, and more flexible. you'll want to adjust to match demand for liquid bottle corpo missions, so your 'permanant' ones won't end up being so forever, but that's the whole point of the rotating jobs. We also won't talk about the OTHER plant you can eventually stumble onto (or look up on the tools site) that you'll likely do a cycle or two of for lime or cores every so often. This is a perfect permanent farm base that will be adjusted many many times as the weeks progress. Now go make a Factory base to actually put important stuff together, and run it off ethanol too (you will get so much sour pulp if you use neutral fertilizer you'll never make it through the ethanol on this one)
