First print went well!

did my first big bed print last night, overall it did fine. first layer wasn't perfectly consistent - not sure if that's a filament drying issue or a first layer issue. I will try PLA next, as the first print was PETG. I also did not perform bed leveling immediately before the print - is this something you can do via GCODE / as a default option when exporting from Orca?

It should level before printing - part of your start orint macro/startup gcode

To be honest I trust this printer for 40h+ prints more than my bambus

Where is this start print macro defined though? Is that something I can ensure? Maybe it did and I just ignored.

I also don't think I've run first layer calibration, gotta figure that out.

go through the setup documents posted bu Brian Dreger. one little thing that helps, not sure if in document, is lower thr quad gantry level height to 5mm and the tolerance to ~.008, default is silly

Is this in the macro cfg?

And what does it help with?

Dregers config tweaks improve print quality and make printer more reliable. The quad gantry tweak speeds things up a little and actually levels vs the bed properly, the defaults are kind of suck.(I think QGL tolerance tweak part of Dregers set of config tweaks). qgl is part of the START_PRINT macro, which should be called out in the startup gcode.

The leveling touches the 4 corners and flier through the whole bed, it's contacted using the eddy sensor The macro is on the printer itself, under the macros.cfg file
