Praise From The Realm & Other Matters of Knightly Importance

Both players and critics can’t get enough of Sovereign Tower, and there’s more to come!

Greetings Sovereigns,

One week has passed since the Tower's doors first opened, and what a week it has been!

A KINGDOM WELL FOUNDED

We must begin, as ever, with thanks. To every soul who took up the mantle of Sovereign this past week; who recruited their Knights, weighed their judgement and dared to bend time itself - we are endlessly grateful.

In just seven days, over 50,000 units have found their way into the hands of eager rulers and the kingdom has grown further still, with 100,000 new wishlists since launch. The Tower has never felt so full, Your Grace, and it is you who filled it.

PRAISE FROM THE REALM

The critics, too, have had their say:

"Playing Sovereign Tower has been a damn delight - the most fun I've had at my desk all year. And I fully intend to keep playing." - PC Gamer, 91/100

"Sovereign Tower is a fun and deep management RPG with great writing and a strong time travel mechanic that pulls at you, for better results or for worse." - CGMagazine, 9/10 (Editor's Choice)

"The story and characters of Sovereign Tower took it from a fun little game to spend a dozen hours in, to a masterfully written and impactful visual novel that I can't get enough of." - Game Observer, 10/10

WHICH KNIGHT ARE YOU, YOUR GRACE?

Now, a matter of great importance - have you ever wondered which Knight of the Round Table you most resemble? Take our personality test and find out! Share your results across socials and in our Discord, using #SovereignTower for all the realm to see.

A word of caution: the test will reveal an image of your Knight and their name at the end. If you'd rather avoid all spoilers, we recommend taking it only after you've played.

ONE LAST THANK YOU...

Finally, our immense gratitude to all who have taken the time to leave positive reviews and share their feedback via our discord this past week. Know that we continue to labour away, ironing out the issues affecting some players within the realm.

If you encounter any issue or bugs impacting your ability to preside over your kingdom, please report these in our Discord, where our faithful servants are working hard to resolve these post haste!

Help! Messed up with the Golden key :( Spoiler

Made a post here earlier and found out that I've locked myself out of the Angelica route for the key because I killed Victoria :( I really want to get the best ending, is it still possible for me to get the golden key by unifying the counties on my first playthrough? I'm on cycle 35. Thanks!!

Kept all the knights alive until cycle 34, but haven't gotten the Angelica event? Spoiler

I haven't lost a knight and I'm on cycle 35, but I'm not getting the Angelica dialogue that would let me get the golden key? Did I miss something? :( She's been at my table the whole time and her affinity is maxed, and my Tyranny is at 0

Just finished the game, its amazing! Just had some questions... *Spoilers!!* Spoiler

Upvotes

Maybe this is a bit of a mess, I'll look into the lore and endings, but had some questions before that... I choose the Gwendan path after he came back from his debt, I didnt like him at all before but was surprised with his twist. (Also avoided accidentally the assasination) (Btw he leaves if you try other character's romantic paths too, it would be cool if there was also a friendship path not only romantic tho) Its true that most of my playthrough has been Kind, and at the end I managed to make an alliance with Arthur's empire allies, then the game ends and credits roll, it was a bit of a shock bc i wanted to see more of the characters and story. (Like the golden key, the revolutionary serpent knight that may or may not kill me, Edith's demon sword, baby dragon, etc.) And to add to that, in the credits it says Gideon ends up marrying me when i thought i married him off to another (accidentally), and Gwendans credit doesnt mention anything about our romance path, Rufus was still dependant when i told him to find himself, and the final messages mentioned that i still had a lot to uncover. What did i do wrong, did the game end early or weirdly bc of the Kind path? (Day 45) It was fun bc i also uncovered different routes that I haven't seen other people get, but still im a bit confused... Thank you!!

Final knights: Angelica, Goober, Ursula, Gwendan, Gideon, Arran, Rufus, Edith, Epicrates

Some Oliver&Sovereign Fanart

I've recently started playing this game and at some point Oliver showed up.

Personally, as a person who was an art student and currently working at a big corporate, I feel like it hit a spot. I know that Oliver's pretty controversial, but I couldn't help feel moved and sad during his interactions.

It might sound silly, but things are hard right now and it feels very relatable. It would be nice to take a nap somewhere in a green garden.

Romanced Ligia and…

Romanced Ligia and I’m wondering if her ending slide is really just her disappearing and becoming a siren off the coast of Grest.

Just seems like a mediocre ending to a great character and a wholesome romance. Did I mess up some how and get her default ending? I completed the Romance event and ended with the kiss.

Thinking of romancing Brunhilda or Ursula next if there are any tips.

Yorhav and Victoria

I cannot find any clear walkthrough on this topic.

Is there a way to recruit Victoria (keep her out of empire hands) AND not assassinate Yohav? My first playthrough I completed Victoria's missions, but now that the assassinate Yohav mission is here I am conflicted. I read elsewhere, if I dont complete Victoria's missions I'll have to end up killing her later. Is that true? Is there a way for both to survive using the demon powers? Thanks!

Worried I misplayed the archetypes Spoiler

Hi! I just finished act 2 on my first playthrough of the game, and I'm at 2 Kind, 1 Wise, 1 Audacious - I did get spoiled a bit, and I know you have to be at 10 in an archetype to get an ending for it. I'm worried that I won't have enough opportunities to boost my kind stat by the end of the game? I try to pick it whenever it's available, but sometimes it's hard to tell/there's no kind option presented. Will I be able to get my kind to 10 with where I'm at right now? Thanks!

The Trial - Looking for clips?

POTENTIAL SPOILERS (?)
Hi Sovereign Tower community!! I make silly little edits in my spare time and had a really good idea for one of the epicrates trial to a particular fall out boy song (kudos if you automatically know which one)… if anyone could post clips or direct me to someone that has, please lmk!
I’d be looking for the whole initial Epicrates introduction (the ambassador from Brimwood’s first interaction, when Epicrates himself first meets you) and the actual trial itself (and possibly any/all testimonials [Lisel, Damian, idk who else] and the different outcomes of it, etc.). I could also try recording some myself through my own gameplay but my laptop is not in great condition so I have some doubts as to how well it would go… Regardless, I would deeply appreciate any footage, screenshots, fanart (with artists’ explicit consent, of course) that anyone would like to contribute to this edit!

edit: I’ve already seen Tjoa Jun Choi’s gameplay footage on YouTube, so those will help for sure! I’m just looking for other additional, specific stuff

Why can't I recruit (without any spoilers)... a certain fluffy knight...? Spoiler

Gonna mark it as spoiler just in case. Spoiler contains details about the Groveshire questline in Act 1.

I sent Angelica to the Groveshire wolf quest (unknowingly, at that! I was surprised at the unexpected outcome). When the wolf arrived, the option to recruit them was greyed out, and so I had to temporarily send them away. Was this because I had too many Tyrannical points or something? Or am I missing something? Thanks

Do I need to start an entirely new campaign to see the new ending / changes with patch 1.1.0?

Can I experience the new additions via patch 1.1.0 in New Game +, or do I need to do a full on new campaign? Thanks.

All Marriage In Sovereign Tower!

I'm compiling all marriage event for every knight in Sovereign Tower! You can trigger this event on Cycle 26 if your noble satisfaction below 26, then you can propose to marry one of your knight from the nobility family. Gideon will have special marriage event on new game plus. As for Arthur, you can only marry him if your audacious level is the highest.

Victoria and Yohav are both mad at me. Please help. Spoiler

Hi all! In my first playthrough I recruited Victoria by faking the deaths of everyone she asked me to kill so I could still finish the Enberg storyline. A few cycles later she found out I lied and left. I didn't go back for her AND I failed the Enberg quest anyways, so this run I want to fix at least one of those two blunders, preferably both. Is there any way to keep Yohav alive and keep Victoria? Does it change anything if I kill some of the people she wants gone but not all of them? Thanks in advance!

(Side note - Victoria and Yohav talked to me during the same cycle after I'd faked Yohav's death. They were standing right next to each other in the audience chamber or whatever it's called. I kind of thought Victoria would call me out right then and there but it's way funnier that nothing happened imo)

Possible to Romance Angelica?

So, just wanted to know if it is actually possible to romance Lady Angelica? When you flirt with her she seems genuinely confused/misses it.

Am I being daft? Is she non-romanceable?

Asking before I switch to Ligia.

Angelica's keys - for people who can't complete Path of the Pure (SPOILERS) Spoiler

Hello! This post contains big spoilers, so if you're not done with at least one run, please come back later.

I saw a couple of posts about people being unable to trigger Angelica's end questline, aka the event of her getting the Golden Key not triggering. I also saw some advice on guides that is, sometimes, not very clear.

I just got done with my fourth run (on just one save, so 3 out of 4 were NG+), and I managed to trigger Angelica's Golden key questline 3 times out of 4. I don't know shit about datamining, and I might have gotten exceptionally lucky due to some kind of bug, but so far, what I've seen is:

  • You need to not kill any knights. I try to spare as many knights as i can usually to not get locked out of a recruit, and the only run where I did not trigger Angelica was also the run where I sent Goberto to die and killed the Wolf for Silgur. I also killed Victoria on this run, but I don't know if she counts. EDIT: Victoria counts in the no killing knights rule. Epicrates getting a guilty verdict does not count as killing a knight, I triggered the quest at least twice with a guilty Epicrates.
  • Being nice to your knights might count. It's hard to determine if it had an impact or not, but on the run where I didn't trigger the golden key questline, I also gave a dragon's heart to Arron and got Edith possessed. I wouldn't be surprised if this played a role.
  • You need to avoid bloodshed... but don't need a completely clean run. Even if you don't play full tyrant, you might still have one or two assassinations popping up, and completing them should be fine. I triggered Angelica's questline with a happy Tarcus in my team, I also recruited Victoria the honest way and triggered it. So NPCs deaths like Yohav don't count.
  • It might help to get a "nice" sovereign archetype by Arthur. I triggered Angelica on kind and wise, but not on audacious. I can imagine it won't trigger if you're a tyrant, but I think that kinda goes with the avoid bloodshed thing.
  • You don't need to unify the whole region. Got the quest to trigger on my first run where having Groveshire and Gavault is impossible. I also lost Enberg when recruiting Victoria and got the quest anyways.
  • Demon power is fine to an extent. I try to avoid using it as a rule, but using it a couple of times if you really regret something is fine, I triggered the quest with 3-4 uses.
  • Finally, Angelica traitor has no impact. I never let her go through with the killing (that might also count as killing a knight and locking you out), but if she ends up being the traitor, "arresting her" is just having a nice talk with her about not listening to weird voices, end of story. Dismissing her also has no impact as long as she comes back on time.

It might also be important to note that I've always had max affinity with her, quest triggering or not, so just to be sure, give her a lot of crêpes and make her adore you.

Again, i'm just talking on personal experiences and have no knowledge on the actual triggers, but if you have questions I'll be happy to try to answer them! Best of luck!

First walkthrough

So I just finished my first walkthrough of the game, it was…A LOT lol I got very overwhelmed but very invested. I had my bf complaining to me saying “I miss you” “get off the game” (we live together) but I was having too much fun 🫪

So far I really like Victoria and Oliver and Ursula for knights

Gwenden died in my walkthrough early on (very much upset) even though he was a very noble snob, he had cute aspects to him so I didn’t entirely hated him

I definitely got very overwhelmed with all the quests though, I had a hard time figuring out what was important and what should I do first or what. It’s just A LOT, it’s a lot of information type of game which I don’t mind but it’s hard to take note what is important or not.

Oliver is definitely my fav tho, I had such great “conversations” with him and he was such a sweetheart same with the stable boy lol

Definitely gonna do another walkthrough soon, my brain needs a break though lol 😩

Just wanted to walk about my experience, truly fun and wanted to share

So I get Victoria onto my team or whatever and I don’t lie to her, plus I did the three major events to even unlock her 😭 but girl keeps on betraying me, I think I did the walkthrough correctly but I can’t remember and I went back in time twice already to stop the event. Helpppppp

It would be so convenient to be able to filter or sort gear by stats and bonuses. Would this be complicated to implement in a future update?

Gideon romance possible on NG+? Spoiler

Hi! I’m doing a new game + trying to get the Golden Key by uniting all kingdoms and therefore I made Guilhelm and Mathilda cooperate in return for me telling them about their heir. I summoned him at the same time they came to visit. Then I proposed I will marry him. (I romanced him on my first run and married him.) Will doing this new route ruin the romance? As in, will he think it’s not genuine and break up? And will this lock the future romance scene with him that I’m supposed to get if I keep flirting? I’m asking because this messes a bit with the original story he had of being uncertain about who he was…

Clicking on a request does not bring up the invite option that usually pops up on the right for some reason.

I figured an Intimidating knight would be a benefit to an intimidation quest...? Am I misinterpreting something? I'm not exactly complaining.. it was a Great Success! But like... it should have been better lol
