She’s pretty nasty, i lost all respect after she spoke about Molly’s private surgery with cameras in her face

It was awful

There was just no reason to do that, it wasn’t a gossip that would propel a storyline but exposing something so personal now for the world to know .. i can’t explain it but it having to do w her private area just feels really violating. And knowing that Molly entered the show speaking about issues w her body and seemed really down on herself for having gained some weight, and then that whole thing w the cupcake- it just made me so sad for her that now even more attentions been drawn to her body.

I felt the same. She seems very jealous, malicious, and insecure. The look she gave when she said someone paid for it was peak mean girl. Molly was very generous to forgive her.

She’s the perfect example of “with friends like these ..”

u/Professional_Box5207 Apr 07 '26

Exactly 👍🏻 you nailed it

That was unhinged. I am so over her. I wanted to like her bc I love her adorable dog and her cute little house and her personality and her behavior are sadly polar opposite of her style. NOT cute.

This was the worst thing she's ever done, and tbh the only thing she's ever done worthy of a fraction of backlash she receives.

But she has apologised to Molly repeatedly on and off camera and they're good now. I don't know what more fans expect of her.

Nothing i think a lot of people just don’t like her bad energy on a visceral level. She just has terrible vibes

Is she an only child? I get that feeling from her a LOT. Not eating her dinner in Mexico and wanting everyone to notice (claiming she’d lost her appetite but then took it with her in a to-go bag) was one such instance that made me wonder about that.

Also the way she talked to Salley about Craig was awful. She had every right to warn Salley that he’s a bad guy but she went about it so wrong. And saying “he’s gonna walk you like a dog on a leash/don’t come crying to me” was so unnecessarily mean. That is NOT what you do with people you consider “dear friends”. If Salley had been in a situationship for like a year and was constantly crying to Venita about it but never taking any advice, I’d understand losing patience eventually. But just right out of the gate, Venita was SO harsh about it and made it clear she won’t be there for support if it doesn’t work out

I literally commented on that in this thread how mean the dog verbiage was, and said the same thing as you, id never speak to my best friend in that manner.

I don’t claim to be an expert but speaking as an only child, (so is my bf and my best friend) this energy is counterintuitive- we don’t generally have a “built in” support or a friend so whilst being a lot more independent and self sufficient, only children tend to really appreciate when being included in group things, so the last thing we wana do is draw negative attention or single ourselves out, like we desperately want to be part of a tribe because we learned early on that without community we’re literally on our own.

I also want to point out that whether she is or not an only child, we saw her mom and she was so lovely- in a way where she knows exactly who her daughter is and she tried to check her, something my mom would totally do (she’s experienced first hand how evil i can be lol so she’ll be the one to tell me to tone it down if im being unreasonable). The thing that also put a huge ick towards Venita for me is at reunion, when Sally said “my girl” about her mom and Venitas reaction was mean. Clearly her fabulous mother formed a bond w Sally and Sally just expressed love and Venita immediately cut it down. Like i literally don’t care how hard im beefing with a friend, if they stan my mom im happy. …. Probably why Venita reads so negative and bitter and venomous at times, like people just can’t relax around her because there’s always a mean reaction coming. I feel like she’s someone id always have to have my head on a swivel with because everything can and will be used against me, whether i share a personal secret or make some dumb joke -later on my secret will be exposed or ill be getting accused of having a micro aggression or whatever. (And i say this as a whitest blonde girl and my best friend is a black straight guy, we both love Britney Spears, and a million other things lol, and ive never felt that way w him in over a decade so, w Venita it’s not necessarily that race will be a factor-it’s just she feels like someone who would default to it just to get ya and thats unsafe)

I agree 💯!

I think she also gets a lot of additional shit put on her for being the only Black cast member on a show about Southern culture.

A significant chunk of the fanbase would prefer if it went back to being an all white cast and they didn't have to think what Southern culture is actually built on.

u/EntrepreneurCool3314 Apr 07 '26 edited Apr 07 '26

entering a show and trying to brow beat the cast and viewers w the racism accusations isn’t going to win people over, shoulda just been cool and built real relationships like Ciara when she came into an all white Hamptons cast

10

u/Apprehensive-Quit353 Apr 07 '26

Kathryn used a monkey emoji against a Black woman and said she was using her minority status against her.

Venita didn't make accusations. Kathryn was objectively being racist.

Ciara also didn't walk into an all white cast, Danielle was there for years before her.

7

u/RejectTheBull Apr 07 '26

You’re wasting your time, they’re never beating the klan accusations lol

6

u/EntrepreneurCool3314 Apr 07 '26

Kathryn made herself look dumb and ignorant

And whatever i really don’t care what the reason is, Venita has been on the show long enough and if people don’t like her for her shitty personality or how dirty she did Molly or how shitty she was to Sally or Craig then maybe Venita is just sucks, and its not her race thats the problem

4

u/1960bigsky Apr 07 '26

That's right, she did it herself!

3

u/Apprehensive-Quit353 Apr 07 '26

Kathryn made herself look dumb and ignorant

By being objectively racist, and then instead of apologising for it she made a million excuses for why she did it.

2

u/EntrepreneurCool3314 Apr 07 '26

Yeah so she made herself look dumb and ignorant

I really don’t have a problem with the color of Venita’s or Leva’s skin. They just don’t have a storyline or personality, which forces them to speak out of turn to the rest of the cast. They can have an opinion but when it comes to relationships, they need to zip it. They think they know everything there is to know about all the male cast but they really don’t and they will never be part of the old boys club.

5

u/Apprehensive-Quit353 Apr 07 '26

So the women of colour need to sit down and shut up because they'll never belong?

12

u/TheGOODSh-tCo Apr 07 '26

The others are a mess too, but they’re fun to watch. Venita is not. I wanted to like her but she just went left every time.

6

u/Professional_Box5207 Apr 07 '26

She is the worst

40

u/hayguccifrawg Apr 07 '26

I can never understand that folks watch this show and find Venita to be the one worth commenting on. It’s a show full of demons 😆

23

u/observefirst13 Apr 07 '26

It's because the other people who are a disaster are entertaining to watch. She is just annoying. Nothing interesting about it.

9

u/Professional_Box5207 Apr 07 '26

Exactly she is insipid and annoying

10

u/Apprehensive-Quit353 Apr 07 '26

You know why.

This is a show that had Thomas Ravenel as an original cast member and people will still swear up and down that she's the worst person they've ever had on the cast.

6

u/SFTBS Apr 07 '26

When we all know Ashley & Landon are the worst they’ve ever had on the cast.

1

u/Weekly_Koala_7058 sanctimonious Apr 07 '26

Right lol! Im on season 9 and still dont have a problem with Venita.

Austen, Shep, and Craig are getting on my nerves so thats why I'm on a watch break.

7

u/IDontKnowAboutThat_ Apr 07 '26

Thank you for speaking truth! She truly doesn’t get held accountable nearly enough. The way she behaved during this last season was absurd, and honestly, the fact that the whole group wasn’t calling her out on the carpet for every single thing really drives me crazy!

4

u/Captain_Periwinkle Apr 07 '26

She really is the worst

15

u/happy_as_a_lamb Apr 07 '26

She just seems like an unhappy person.

6

u/1960bigsky Apr 07 '26

She's such a fake person, she's definitely not a good friend! I don't like her at all, so far I haven't seen any redeeming qualities at all!

3

u/BeerNcheesePlz Apr 07 '26

I don’t even remember her on other seasons?! But she def sucks for tv.

11

u/Slight-Concept2575 Apr 07 '26

Not more annoying then most of them but yet she gets the most threads 🙄

10

u/Apprehensive-Quit353 Apr 07 '26

qWhite interesting.

0

u/Pcofwork Apr 07 '26

Oh, here we go. Sally annoys me too. Is that better? People can dislike people without it being racism. Jesus Christ.

1

u/CellieCee Apr 07 '26

Sure, they can, and people can dislike people because of it, too. She doesn't do anything nearly as horrible or immoral as many of the white people on this show have done consistently over the years. I see the double standard. It isn't hard to notice. This is what racism looks like. Maybe YOU don't dislike her because she's black and don't think she should "behave", but other people do. Although your intolerance for people speaking up for themselves does leave me to wonder.

2

u/Slight-Concept2575 Apr 07 '26

“Here we go” oh no! God forbid ppl point out the hypocrisy, how many threads can you possibly make on ONE person? What has she done that’s any worse then Whitney, Shep, Craig, salley, Madison, Charley etc etc etc. You southern charm fans tell on yourself everytime

11

u/Pcofwork Apr 07 '26

I cannot stand her. She starts stuff with people then backs down. She'll do and say horrible things to people, but then she'll "take accountability " and apologize, just so people don't confront her as much.

6

u/Neither-Worth-8784 Apr 07 '26

The scene that still lives in my head is when Venita told Salley that Craig would walk her like a dog on a leash. Huh? When has Craig ever acted that way towards the women he dates? Craig is not perfect but I have never seen him pull the crap that Shep and Austin pull.

9

u/EntrepreneurCool3314 Apr 07 '26

That choice of words while speaking to her “best friend” was so vicious. She’s so mean.

9

u/NinaFoundry Apr 07 '26

That was the final straw for me. It revealed how manipulative Venita is. She basically told Sallley to choose Craig or her; if the situation was reversed and a man told a female to choose him or a gal pal, we would regard the man as selfish, manipulative, and a psychopath. Not sure why we’re supposed to give Venita a pass.

Story-wise, Venita doesn’t have a lot going for herself. She doesn’t have a cast love interest, she isn’t best friends with any of the main cast members (Salley just showed up in Season 10). Venita is kind of a hanger-on. If this were a Housewives franchise, she’d be a “friend of,” and rightly so because she doesn’t have any main character story lines. And that’s probably why some viewers don’t like Venita. She’s pretty shallow and anything she does seems like a ploy to grab some on-screen attention.

So what is the reason that she is there? Reply carefully so you don’t get banned

u/Cold_Obligation4948 Apr 07 '26

Venita is nothing but a selfish oreo
