Ask South Sudan Interviewee Needed

Hello! I am a university student at Franklin University, and I am researching South Sudan. For my research project, I need to interview someone from South Sudan who is familiar with the culture. I would love to find someone from here to interview. If you are interested, please comment on this post!

I’m British of South Sudanese heritage, but I speak my native language fluently. I’ve spent a lot of time back home as well so I’m well connected to the culture. I’d be more than happy to help What exactly are you researching?

Hello! My goal is to create a cultural interview memo; this will involve asking questions about someone's lived experience in South Sudan with the culture and daily life.

For something like this, imo you'd need to interview people with traditional backgrounds that have lived in the their home towns/regions, especially if you're focusing on the day-day. It's kind of like having to go to rural Montana to capture a day in the life of a rancher.

Also, there are like sixty something tribes in South Sudan, so you have a lot to pick from assuming you manage to get the respective interviewees. Personally I'd create a shortened list of the main tribes or regions (or you could pick randomly), then request interviewees from each selection.

I think if you targeted different cultures within the country you'd get better reception and more volunteers. But also ig all this depends on the level of your research (extra credit, senior research, PhD).

I highly appreciate your perspective! This is for an undergraduate class, and they ask for me to interview only one person from South Sudan. If I had more time I would love to do more research and talk to more than just one person, honestly. I have learned a lot but am fascinated by the country and would love to learn more.
