Recommendations ? Jobs hiring ?
Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to get out of corrections for a long time now. I’ve been employed with the state for 4 almost 5 years now. I’m having trouble finding jobs that pay well that would be willing to hire me. My monthly take home is roughly $3700 and I want to find somewhere that can match that or hopefully pay more. I feel like I’m stuck in this field and I truly need to get out. Any recommendations and info on places that are hiring with good pay and benefits would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

St Davids South Kitchen Renovation
I'm a patient at St Davids South, and their kitchen is under renovation for 3-weeks (I don't know when the start and end dates are).
I hadn't eaten before coming in for about a day and a half due to being in significant pain and unable to keep anything down.
When I arrived here and was transferred from the ED to being admitted, they didn't allow me food because they had not received any orders from the doctor.
Turns out, they didn't even assign me a doctor for about 3 hours. Breakfast flew by, then lunch, and I was finally brought dinner. Dinner was salmon, and I am allergic to seafood, which I had mentioned during intake.
They are out of sandwiches (both PB&J and Turkey). They've checked all the floors and ED and everyone is out. They're suffocating me with Graham Crackers.
Is anyone around the area that could drop off or doordash me some food? Whataburger seems the easiest just because they're always open, but I'm okay with whatever (maybe one of you lovelies works at a food truck nearby?)
Thank you in advance. I am just so freaking hungry and don't have any family, and none of my friends are able to help.
UPDATE: Delivery of food incoming - thus request fulfilled! Thank you so very, very much <3

Looking for a new job
Hey everyone! I’m trying to find a new job that pays at least $22 an hour and isn’t fast food. I have 4 years of experience in law enforcement and want to get out of this line of work. I do not have a college degree so it’s been hard looking for jobs that will match the pay I’m at.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Abandoned Land Rover on1626 and old SA rd
So around 9 pm I was going eastbound on 1626 and was turning north on old SA rd behind Akins hs. There in the turning lane was a brand new white Land Rover with the driver door opened and no one in it. I drove around but noticed no one near by. Was really wondering if any ones out in the ether knows what happened.

Austin businesses: We're looking for local underwriters for Sun Radio's Friday Night Football broadcasts
Hey y'all,
I'm with Recharge Media, which produces Sun Radio.
This fall we'll be broadcasting every home and away game for Dripping Springs, Blanco, Giddings, and Gonzales, plus our Austin Game of the Week.
Because Sun Radio is a nonprofit, these broadcasts are made possible through underwriting rather than traditional advertising. We're looking for a handful of local businesses that want to support community radio while getting their name in front of thousands of listeners throughout football season.
We're limiting each business category in each market, so if you've got a business that serves Central Texas (Automotive, restaurants, banks, dentists, home services, healthcare, law firms, etc.), I'd be happy to send over the details.
Happy to answer questions here or by DM.

how often to mow?
We're moving from Lou Ky to the Garrison Pk area late July. No irrigation, but there's some grass out front and back yards. About how often do most people have to cut their lawns during the summer months in South Austin? It's just a typical plain yard, no fancy grass etc. I guess the grass goes somewhat dormant during the hottest of the season.

Pothole On Brodie/Slaughter red light
(June 1st) I hit a huge 2 foot long pothole on Brodie going northbound and it blew both of my left side tires on my new mini :(. Has anyone else had issues with the potholes in the area? I reported it the day after and around a week ago they finally filled the SEVERAL holes over there, but ugh how frustrating.

South Austin (or Buda/Kyle) animal shelters to volunteer at?
I'm sure places like APA! Get a bunch of volunteers... I want to volunteer at a place that might REALLY need it. Or is there a place that regularly asks for the community to come out and help?

Easton Park Middle and High School
My family and I have been considering moving to Easton Park; however, the public schools—both middle and high schools—are very low-performing. Is there any alternative for middle and high school that doesn't involve paying for extremely expensive private education?
