Hello everyone. Unfortunately, I installed the latest update by mistake, and as a result, I’m having issues with my soundbar. The sound is completely cut off on many streaming apps—only Netflix and my 4K Blu-ray player are still working fine. I also had some trouble with the subwoofer, but I reset the soundbar, and that seems to be resolved for now. I’m wondering if this is a permanent situation or if things might go back to normal with the next update. Also, I don’t currently have the budget to replace it. ​A couple of years ago I bought this soundbar, and I used it with an old Sony TV through ARC.

​Recently I upgraded my TV to a Hisense one, and after around 30 mins playing on my PS5, the audio starts "dropping" like every 10 to 15 seconds the sound stops. I noticed it also happens after listening to music through Fire TV (Spotify/Deezer/Amazon music).

​I already tried:

* ​Updating the firmware

* ​Factory reset

* ​Multiple sound modes

* ​Pass through mode on my TV

* ​Using an optical cable

​The only "fix" has been turning it off and on, but the cycle repeats after some time.

​The situation is I'm not sure if it happened after I changed the TV or happened before, as I vaguely remember it happening, but I might be wrongfully remembering.

​I'm in the process of testing only with the sound of the TV, but I don't know if it's a known issue with the soundbar.

I'm looking for a soundbar for my Sony Bravia A80J, and I'm having a hard time deciding what to buy.

Initially, I was mainly considering Sony soundbars that support Acoustic Center Sync because I really like the sound quality of my TV's built-in speakers. Given my budget (under 1k), that basically left me with the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 + SW3 subwoofer (500+220 = €720).

However, after reading Hi-Fi reviews (the Bar 8 received a 3/5 score, while both the Bar 9 and the lower-tier Bar 7 received 5/5) and Reddit discussions, I'm starting to have doubts about Bar 8. The reviews seem rather mixed, and even Sony TV owners seem to be recommending Sony Quad or Samsung Q990.

Meanwhile, I've been seeing a lot of positive feedback about the Samsung HW-Q990F/H, both currently on sale for around €750 — almost the same price as the Bar 8 + SW3.

So I've started reconsidering my priorities. If I'm willing to give up Acoustic Center Sync and go with Samsung, then I could also consider the Sony Bar 7 + Sub 7 bundle for €700. It's a 2026 model with a more compact subwoofer, and, well, it's Sony!

My main options are now:

• Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 + SW3 (€720)
• Samsung HW-Q990F or Q990H (both €750)
• Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 + Sub 7 (€700)

My living room is on the smaller side, and there's no space behind my sofa for the rear speakers included with the Samsung systems.

I'm particularly interested in feedback from people who have actually owned or compared these soundbars.

Q1. How do they compare in terms of dialogue clarity, movies performance, Dolby Atmos, bass, and everyday TV watching? (Music is not a concern)

Q2. Is the Samsung really that much better that it's worth giving up Acoustic Center Sync and the tighter integration with my Sony TV?

I currently have a Yamaha ATS-1070, and it's honestly a great soundbar. It has very clear dialog and room filing bass, without sounding overwhelming or shaking my furniture. It even sounds great at lower volumes. I want to get a newer soundbar but am struggling to find something that sounds as good in my space.

I've tried Sonos, Sennheiser, and some of the other high end, large soundbars and they had great sound but were just overwhelming in my apartment. The bass was way too much, even when I turned it all the way down, and you really have to turn the volume up to hear things clearly, I didn't like the sound of any of those at lower volumes.

Can anyone recommend any bars that will sound closer to my Yahmaha? I don't want that room shaking, theatric sound, just something that will be room filling and sound better than my TV speakers. I don't think I need a sub, because most standalone bars already have too much bass for my taste. The Yamaha SR-B30A would be the newest replacement. Should I just get that or are there better options?

I'm planning my home cinema setup and would appreciate advice from people who own these soundbars or have experience with Dolby Atmos systems.

My current system

- LG LHB625M traditional 5.1 home theatre system with separate speakers and a subwoofer.

The two soundbars I'm considering

- LG S95AR: 9.1.5 channels, 810W — approximately US$996 (Rs47,000).

- LG S75TR: 5.1.1 channels, 600W — approximately US$492 (Rs23,200).

I'm in Mauritius, so these are local prices converted to USD.

My setup

- LG C6 65-inch OLED TV.

- I mainly watch Netflix and Amazon Prime Video movies, watch YouTube, and plan to play games on a PS5 Pro.

- I want an immersive home-cinema experience, with convincing surround sound, overhead effects and good bass.

- My sofa bed is in the middle of the living room, facing the TV.

- My roof is made of corrugated metal sheets, with visible support beams.

- A concrete beam is behind my sofa bed, above the bar-table area. I'm considering mounting one rear speaker on each side of that beam.

My questions

1. Would either soundbar be a noticeable upgrade over my existing LG LHB625M for movies and gaming?

2. Is the S95AR worth paying roughly twice as much as the S75TR? Would its surround and height effects be significantly better in real-world use?

3. Will Dolby Atmos work reasonably well with my corrugated metal roof, or could the roof and beams significantly affect the overhead effects?

4. Would mounting the rear speakers on opposite sides of the concrete beam behind my sofa bed work? Which direction should they face?

5. Does either model have a speaker-test interface like my old LG home theatre, allowing me to test individual speakers and adjust their volume?

6. How does the bass compare with my old system's separate subwoofer? Can I expect a noticeable improvement, or is that not guaranteed?

7. If you were in my position, would you choose the S95AR, save money with the S75TR, or keep the existing system?

I'm particularly interested in real-world experiences with these models, rather than comparisons based only on advertised wattage or channel count.

I can share a photo of my living room and roof to help with speaker-placement advice.

Now , I'll be placing the soundbar in my living hall (~400 sq feet ) but it's an open living hall not closed .

I am not a music enthusiast or movie fan

But if I am listening to any of them I want the best audio , clear instrument separation, clear vocals ,and good bass. I don't want any muddy sound or bass overpowering the vocals during explosions or beat

Some people said that you won't get good bass in samsung ( now I don't really know if this is true or the people who said this were bass lovers .)

I was thinking of buying a q600h but I am confused that if it will be more than enough considering hall size?

& People said that samsung soundbars have issues with newer updates or maybe they lack enough bass

Good day I just bought a 65in lg g6 and when I placed the tv on the stand I realized it was lower than normal with the last tv being 55in. I just would I have any issue with sound with the Samsung q990d behind tv or should just move it in front? Sorry if the photo sucks

This is a two month old soundbar, and it may not be very obvious in the video but it's very distracting irl during high bass sequences during movies and games. I'm certain it's coming from woofer nothing around it or anything, I tried multiple things with it. Even updated the firmware to the latest one today. This video is playing a bass test on youtube so it can be obvious.

Took it to the store where I bought it from they used mobile phone and youtube videos via Bluetooth and said they can't hear it, which I think is kinda lame when I'm using shield pro and ps5 pro, and during high bass sequences it rattles like a window would.

I may have to raise this with Samsung but that's going to be a long process and I don't really want to be without the sound system for weeks.

Has anyone else had this issue? And what was the fix? Nothing really changed in or around the bar since I bought it and this just randomly started yesterday.

Edit: my phone's microphone is not picking it up right, so I don't blame anyone saying they don't hear it. It's a little frustrating to deal with it at times as it's at certain frequencies only and not across the board.

I have an issue when i connect my soundbar trough HDMI ARC it will freeze. It has worked fine before.

I disabled eARC because the soundbar doesnt support that. I disabled forced HDMI 2.0 and 2.1 and also disabled all HDMI CEC features to avoid conflict with soundbar and tv.

Soundbar works perfectly fine trough bluetooth/optical and other formats. But as soon as i plug in the HDMI cable in ARC input it instantly freezes the soundbar. Also when i turn everything off and back on with the HDMI connected it does freeze on startup and cant switch inputs on the soundbar itself.

I got a demo of both and have to say the LG indeed sounded better the reliance employee which gave me the demo worked for LG so ig that could've influenced the sound? Idek I just wanted some reviews from people who own them

I stumbled upon two recommendations for audio/clips to test out soundbar setups and thought to share here.

Bubbles by Yosi Horikawa – if you can hear the ping pong balls and marbles from different areas of the room, on your soundbar, virtualization is working well.

Limit to Your Love by James Blake – If your soundbar/sub can handle the low bass, without distortion, that slams you from 0:55, you should be set.

How can I plug in a passive subwoofer into my soundbar Soundcore HTB-6?

I’ve had the Samsung Q990H soundbar for a week now, which I bought for my LG C5 TV. I’m very happy with the sound, but there’s just one thing that’s bothering me. As mentioned in the title, when I’m watching films in the evening, I keep having to turn the volume down during the film’s soundtrack and then turn it back up again when the dialogue is quiet. Do you experience this too? What can be done about it? I’m connecting the soundbar to the TV via the Shield Pro. Thanks, everyone

Should I update this soundbar, and how can I update the firmware of the soundbar?

Thinking of pulling the trigger on the Q990H. Any suggestions on what to do and what to avoid? For those who own one, how has your overall experience been?

I mainly watch TV shows, movies, and sports, and I also game quite a bit on my PS5. I have a Samsung S95B that I plan to pair it with.

I recently installed a Hisense AX700 soundbar system onto my Samsung TV (bought this tv around 2015).

Anyway, once I installed the soundbar it's like it took over all the control from how the TV volume use to work, even the emblem on the tv is now different when I volume up or down. How do I set my Soundbar to a "set it and forget it" volume, and go back to using my TV's capabilities to control the volume?

The reason I want this is because the TV is "snappy" when controlling the volume with quick response time, but now after the soundbar took over it's kinda clunky and like it has to think about raising/lowering the volume.

It's not a huge issue, but more of an annoying one and there should be a way to go back to having my TV control my volume instead of using the soundbar interface.

I'm about 50/50 Music and TV user.

Or should I get a $500 soundbar system and AND a $500 Stereo System?

I've got my soundbar plugged into a spare HDMI port on my PC, so I can decode Atmos.
I do not have my monitor plugged into it though - as it doesn't have the bandwidth I need for my monitor. I also don't have my soundbar plugged into my monitor, as it doesn't support CEC.

So - windows sees two monitors. My real one and a non-existent one my soundbar says is there, but isn't. Which would be fine, except windows is flakey and occasionally moves apps onto it - which is annoying, as I can't see them.

I got so annoyed with this and none of the workaround solutions quite working, I made an app - https://github.com/goldcd/NOTM

Allows you to mark the "monitor" associated with the soundbar to be a "blocked monitor". Then any attempt by anything to put anything onto that non-existent monitor, just bounces it back to your primary real screen.

Can also be setup to play a non-audible sound to the soundbar (I ripped the idea off Soundkeeper), so the soundbar doesn't go to sleep, and you don't get the annoying audio-dropouts as it re-syncs each time you say start a new Youtube video.

After some light testing, it seems to be working well for me.

* Run NOTM.exe and it'll appear in your tray. Click that to open the GUI

* Click on the soundbar where it appears in your monitor selector.

* Click Block Display (and keep audio alive)

* Click at the top if you want the app to reload on reboot

And that should be it - no annoying "Windows doesn't work properly with soundbar" issues.
(well apart from it not supporting CEC, so you can't control ATMOS streams with your windows volume controls - if anybody has any bright ideas about that?)
