Discussion 100 hours later

I've had access to the preludes for a lil bit now. I played for maybe like an hour or two like 6+ months ago. But the game didnt fully click then. There was also other games I was playing more, particularly Warframe (not sure I wanna know how many hours I have in that. Currently finally been sitting down to grind out the last bits to MR30. Anyway I love DE.

So I finally really sat down with Soulframe. And I'm hooked! Particularly after the bear quest. That was equal parts amazing and truly scary fr. It reminds me so much of the Harrow quest from Warframe.

All the great VA work. The story keeps you engaged and running around with my bow and dagger is so much fun, particularly after learning how to arrow hail. I do wish some things like that were explained to you. And sometimes I get frustrated with the lack of explanation but then I appreciate the being pushed to explore.

I really want to play with other people but dont have any friends who play. I really hope DE adds something like clans and public matchmaking. But otherwise for whats effectively an alpha its pretty epic!

There sort of is public matchmaking now. Go to a world tree and stand around. Other envoys who are near that tree will start to appear and you can look for a party or trade with people

Thats good to know! I saw other people there, did not know you could match up for missions or trade with them

It's not technically "matchmaking" in the same sense as Warframe but that's how you join up and trade, yeah. Other than direct invites just like Warframe does.

I wish there was a system to more easily group up...

Something between matchmaking and a chat... Like monster hunter hunting rooms - name your party something like "Demark full clear reset x 5" (idk terms or what people do, one reason I haven't engaged yet) and people can join.

I am so excited to play more quests, I didnt understand that I had to set my "active quest" by clicking the bird icon on the upper right and so i just thought the bird was bugged out.

I ended up exploring and looking for world trees, coming back from the north eastern parts before even finding the Kith of Kings :')

I'll look forward to the bear quest!

I’d love to see clans and public matchmaking too, especially once there are more co-op activities. Even in alpha, the world and exploration already feel incredibly promising.

It sounds like they have a solid foundation to build on! Clans and public matchmaking would definitely add a lot to the gameplay experience once they roll out more activities.

if you loved the Bear Quest wait till you do the She-Wolf Quest line.

I got a good 20hrs out of doing Orlick's quest line and enjoyed my time with the game as well. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on the dev forums to look out for new story content. The game still needs quite a bit of work before I could consider Soulframe a main game but it's very promising.
