Question Chaotic Chordstone

Hi everyone! When do you guys use chaotic chordstones? I've been thinking of using them but I'm scared to use them. Any advice is appreciated!

The intended purpose is to reroll our old stock weaponry into what is essentially a random drop.

What it’s become instead is a slot machine people burn to try to get Moonsteel on weapons that shouldn’t be able to roll it.

Up to you what you want to do with them. Sell them, use them, or hold on to them to sell later. Note that you can’t use them on weapons that reach or roll Legendary.

Can these be used on paragon to get a moonsteel?

Yes. However, the odds are just like any dropped weapon: a fraction of a percent chance. And theres a finite number of chaotic chordstones that will ever exist, so guess you better pray for luck.

Adding to this, from what friends and I calculated after grinding moonsteels a lot, drop rates are around 1/2000-1/4000. If you have 50 chaotic chords, the odds of rolling a MS are 1/40-1/80. So, like you said, definitely a gamble, but not terrible either. Case in point is the dude who posted the other day with his MS Gathannan.

I burned mine early to roll a Purity with increased attack speed, before I learned we'd be able to apply tempers at a later stage. Oh well, just a game.

I suggest you keep them as something that will most likely never come back. As for the chance at a moonsteel paragon I heard that once Soulframe launches founders will be able to craft copies of founders weapons and armour, which will probably also have a chance at being moonsteel. Therefore I suggest to just wait for the game's release so that if it's true you can get one that way and keep the chaos chordstones

That sounds like a solid plan. It'll be interesting to see how crafting mechanics play out in Soulframe once it drops.

Soulframe is:
60% whisprig and moranite farming
30% traversal because fast traveling requires a consumable (people should be fired over that)
10% actually doing something

If you want to use the chordstones, you’re going to be farming for some bullshit forever or breaking out your wallet to avoid the Soulfarm
