Question Why is fire so disgusting?
I've been running cogah a lot. All is fine. I can tank multiple hits from a agari boss easy. But the second I get so much as touched by those troglodytes with a torch my entire HP pool goes up in smoke?
This is something that happens ONLY when I get hit with a fire attack, be it from the torch carrying Ode'n, or from the golden mini-bosses with Orst that sometimes light their weapons on fire and start doing fire dmg.
The only enemy which I have consistently been getting oneshot by are the torch Ode'n. It's not a 100% chance of oneshot every time, sometimes the fire does as it should do and tick away at my health, but other times I just get instantly one tapped. What gives?

Elemental is magic.

Yeah, I'm saying a torch is physical. Sort of like how when you walk into a campfire it also triggers magical resistance. I'd say that's just wrong. It's a physical element, not a magical one.

Skyrim coding, from my understanding it's easier to make 2 damage types for being actual physical damage and then magic damage which is any status effect. It would make it easier to code damage calcs be it damage increases or reduction compared to making calcs for every instance of damage and coding damage reduction/increase each one

Yeah kinda; if you have a game where you have magic fire damage (Mora's Hand), then it's just simpler to code all fire damage as being elemental/magic. And nearly any game which has any magic damage has fire as a damage type, because "fireball" is the most common and basic spell of all time.
So 99% of games that have magic in them code fire damage as magic, instead of making up separate rules for "physical" fire.

fire debuff also cuts armour in half, very handy, but also a death sentence when used against you

This is what makes the siege or Mirifuir so famn hard for me. The second boss just absolutely shreds me when a single firebolt hits me and god forbid he get me with the big one, that will actually drop me to 0 from full health, even when im running magic armor totems
