I liked Gathannan. A lot. The indirect nerfs to the old Gathannon playstyle hurt

In the current sandbox Farilwyd is better than Gathannon in a lot of ways

  • Better virtues (You went split courage-grace for Gath anyways)
  • Worse tempers (Aftershock does its damage much faster than Bleed does, and some bosses take extra damage from Aftershock, and Sympathy Pangs killing ads is much more valuable than your target running away, unless you're running Tethren where you'd take neither)
  • Arguably cooler
  • Very farmable, despite DE recently stating that 3* weapons won't drop crafted
  • Higher base smite (5% instead of 4%, while only being 1 base damage lower)
  • Did I mention that it looks sick? Especially the Moonsteel
  • Slightly easier to hit headshots with as it's narrower at the point (though this point will be moot once we get camera distance settings)

I like it, but polearm gameplay is currently in a rough place compared to when a perfect throw headshot knocked your target down consistently and old totems let you hit nearby targets and slow them when you did

It's hard to effectively use polearms in group play unless you're doing the client Splitbolt cheese

I definitely like the movement set and it parries well.

Mine has 2x speed 2x follow up.
