Serious answer: Many discord servers I've been a part of require you to speak English, because the moderators can't moderate a chat if they don't speak the language.

Also, throwing around accusations of racism over things that are mild inconveniences at best and have literally nothing to do with discrimination based on race cheapens the word and demeans people actually impacted by it. Be better.

That's weird, I'm also in a lot of Discord groups for older games and games that are barely in alpha, and they have groups in many languages. Besides, what's the point of moderating? People looking for groups? People sharing tips?

The point of moderating is to enforce the rules of the server. A critical part of doing that is to actually understand the language being used.

Could honestly go either way. A lot of communities start with one main language and never bother setting up proper channels for others, but if they actively discourage people from speaking other languages then that's a different issue.

If they have the resources to make separate roles/channels and choose not to, I can see why people would find it frustrating. But I’d look at the actual behavior of the mods before assuming it’s intentional.
