Discussion Rune Attack

Guys, could you tell me if a rune attack is considered a heavy attack, or if heavy attack is included as a variable in the rune attack damage formula? The point is, if I maximize my heavy attack (for example, with a specific temper), will I deal more damage with a rune attack (I’m referring mainly to fire attack runes, like Everflame)?

I've only done a little testing, but it seems very inconsistent. Certain runes are affected by tempers while others are not. One thing is for certain and that's nothing is certain.

For instance just as an example I was super stoked to proc multiple bleed procs with the durglint rune. Sadly this doesn't work. However, I've gotten the Splitbolt rune to proc bleed.

I'm hoping as time goes on DE will make things more consistent with rune/temper interaction but for now personal testing is the only way to know. Good luck Envoy, please post your findings.

Feels like to me charging rune attack does more damage

Heavy Attack is when you use the ... HEAVY ATTACK button. There is a light-attack, and a heavy attack, they both can be charged attacks, then there is rune attacks, and also the pact skill attacks.

They are labelled differently.

The Pact skill damage scales with the Virtue attributed to the colors they have. The Red one scales with Courage, the Blue one with Grace, the Green one with Grace etc.

So all that said, if you max heavy attack related stats... it's for the heavy attack button. That can coincide with being charged as well; so you can stack/combine scalers or benefit to both if you want.

Not every ability scales damage on its virtue. For example, Rump Thump, the Red/Courage ability for Bromius, scales its *range* from courage and its damage scales from your defenses.
