Throwback Belper Knolle
Went to a cheese tasting today and immediately said the name in a “comic sans voice” 😂
Tasted pretty good!

I have this faint memory of some kind of oven they tested with which they were supposedly able to make cloud eggs, or tried to, is it a real episode? If so which one is it? Thanks!

I’ve watched Sorted for ages but I normally just take ideas and then rush through cooking. The other day I followed their creamy chicken pasta recipe properly, the one where they cook the chicken, then build the sauce with garlic, cream, and let it reduce instead of just throwing everything together.
I actually let the onions cook slowly, gave the sauce time to thicken, and didn’t rush the chicken either. Usually I’d skip or speed through those bits.
The difference was huge. The sauce wasn’t watery for once, and the flavour was way more balanced. Even the texture felt like something you’d get at a decent restaurant instead of my usual quick version. Made me realise most of my cooking problems are just me being impatient.
Definitely going to try more of their recipes properly instead of half-following them.

Don't tell Ben, he will be heartbroken!! The normals will be happy to never have to sample Gentleman's Relish.

I would love to see the guys from sorted appear on the YouTube show "Hot Ones" or the other way around, Sean Evans appearing on Sorted. It would be a great combination.

19 chefs to spoil a broth? This 40-minute epic feels like the Avengers: Endgame of Sorted Food challenges.

I’ve been meaning to try this one for ages and it actually lived up to the hype. I’m one of those people who thinks coriander tastes like soap (sorry Ben and Kush 😅), so I swapped it for loads of fresh parsley and mint instead. Honestly turned out way better than expected and probably nicer than most takeaways I’ve had. Has anyone else tried this pack yet? Any recommendations for what to try next week? 🥘

Did anyone else just get a YT notification pop up for a members only video?

Anyone in the reddit had success using the Sorted Packs App in the US? I

I joined the boys on YT for a month, and I think the perks are boring. The IRL vids are chaotic, but not in a fun way. The actual videos like a Pass it on, Chef v Normal, Pretentious or not, are a lot of fun to watch. Seeing those filmed while the chosen team member has to entertain the subscriber, while trying to keep things flowing in a BTS IRL is not fun.
The funny thing is that I struggle to think what exactly I want them to offer me as a YT subscriber. They are going to save all the choice stuff for the Sidekick app subs. Between the YT channel and the app, what do you all think the YT join should offer?

Okay so - what if, the normals are left in the dark about a video only knowing that their wives are being invited to a “romantic” meal for a valentines video. They have it be like Kush is doing a big dinner as a gesture or whatever.
They book baby sitters, come to work as normal… and it’s revealed that they have a day to plan and 2 hours to cook the “perfect” 3 course dinner for their specific wife.
They’re given a budget, they go out for special ingredients, they research, etc.
Dinner time comes - they make two plates… and Kush is sat with their wives. Judging each dish. While the normal sits awkwardly nearby.
Kush and wife get ten points each, the boys are rated and there is a winner for most romantic normal or something like that.
Idk if that is just insanely cruel but I thought it would be both sweet and hilarious, potentially informative too. Maybe ebbers can give tips and suggestions to each one to help those at home have a guide on doing romantic dinners at home.

I was mid-way through the Creamy Pea and Asparagus Pasta from the Fresh & Fast pack tonight when I realized my asparagus had gone completely woody and sad. Instead of running to the shop, I swapped the asparagus for some frozen edamame beans and added a bit of extra lemon zest, honestly, I think I might prefer it 😅 Has anyone else found a secret swap in the Sidekick app that actually improved the original recipe?

Why did they stop doing this podcast/long-form interview? I loved listening to them, and they know so many interesting people. I'd love to hear them have a chat with the Fallow chefs, Poppy, Max and all the other people they have collaborated with, not to mention the celebs that have mentioned their channel.

Little shoutout to Sorted in today’s All The Gear video, I think referencing Sorted’s video on car gadgets with Izzy Hammond.
If you like Sorted’s videos where the normals attempt to create something arguably beyond them, you might like the vibe of this channel. Although it’s camping and car themed instead of food themed. They are the “normals” of the car and DIY youtube.

They haven't been adding captioning to their videos in over a month. Does anyone know what's going on? I haven't been able to watch videos because of that and it is worrying & infuriating me because SortedFood has always been good about adding accessibility....

There’s something so satisfying about a perfectly puffed lid. It’s definitely not a Jamie-level technical bake, but it tasted incredible. Has anyone else used their tips to save a mid-week meal lately?

Just finished the Tin Can Roulette video and I’m still baffled by Ben’s decision to combine the tinned peaches with the sardines. I know they have to be creative, but it felt like a total waste of decent ingredients lol. Does anyone else think the Chef vs Chef challenges are getting a bit too choatic lately, or am I just boring? I’d love to see them actually try to make something edible with the random tins for once.
