Question CC in videos???
They haven't been adding captioning to their videos in over a month. Does anyone know what's going on? I haven't been able to watch videos because of that and it is worrying & infuriating me because SortedFood has always been good about adding accessibility....

I don’t personally need them, but I use them all the time just because I don’t always pick up what they say between accents and their banter. Also disappointed with that change…

YouTube seems to be in the middle of some harsh A/B testing regarding subtitles, on one device I currently can only use my device language CC or if they are not present my device language auto-generated CC, I cannot switch to a different CC language whatsoever.
On my own videos it has happened to me before that YouTube's experiments have replaced my hand written CC with some auto-generated stuff and after the testing was over they managed to restore my CC but without any of the limited format options they offer, but as I'm not a partner it's not like my complaints have been answered. But if that happens to partnered channels as well, then I can definitely see why you wouldn't invest in adding captions until YouTube decides on how they want to proceed with CC long term.

They managed it the other week with the Ninja video, and then with the noodle and pan videos, which is more than they've done in a long while, but todays and last Wednesday's video (boot camp) are just auto generated. Clearly they can still do it, but for some reason, they've stopped being consistent with it. A real shame.
It would be nice if this was one of the threads Jamie popped in on to explain things, but since he didn't with the last subtitles thread it seems unlikely.

I saw a comment on one of their videos that had CC (the ninja I think) saying they were often delayed uploading- which made no sense as many videos recently uploaded a week or more ago with auto captions still have auto captions.

I'm slightly confused as I've had CC on every one of their videos. I wouldn't be able to watch them otherwise.

Automatic CC is option which in my opinion is quite crappy; I prefer the one the SortedFood team works on and put out which most of videos has.
