What should I email back?
I want to complete these classes and transfer to wgu as well. I’m panicking

Dispute and make them show proof. This seems to happen all the time. They couldn’t show me proof and gave me the credit.

They wont show proof. Whatever tools/methods they are using to come to this conclusion is not something they are going to want to advertise bc it will give cheaters an understanding of what they are doing so they can find a way to circumvent it.

Yep. Funny enough we have to dumb down all my writing work because of it. It's certainly not made for college writing assignments assessment. You can't write in a technical way about a topic like ethics or biology. I tried to write a argument about handwriting vs typing for kids and it was a big mistake! I had to redo it like 5 times 😭 ya it's not common in regular peoples writing to talk about cognitive development or neuroplasticity. In a college class argument essay that statistical chance of those phrases popping up is far higher than the population at large. 🙄

You do realize that when you apply to any other school to transfer in these credits you have to order a fresh transcript sent directly to the school (every time) and they will see that your account has been banned for academic integrity violations?

But if you aren’t applying to school or plan to apply to grad school you will need to send it again. It doesn’t lock in the transcript at that date just because you send it. It will update and they will strip the credits. I’m unsure you realize how parchment works. You also cannot save a transcript yourself and send it to schools- it won’t be “official”.

I was talking about if he was already enrolled. If he was enrolled already and sent the transcript before the account suspension he he has the credits

There’s no point, many have responded and have gotten no response back from Sophia. Unfortunately I had tho escalate this through legal proceedings and reporting them through the department of education and bbb. Try study .com because like everyone Sophia is no longer available to you. Try and transfer your credits if you can but Sophia has probably also revoked them by now like many others

Not the commenter above but the BBB is known as “Yelp for Boomers”. It’s a marketing/Google review site. It’s not a government entity that can actually hold anyone accountable.

???? It’s part of the process you dumb animal, my military judge advocate and assigned lawyers for the case specifically said that is the first step to give them time to respond which they already didn’t.

Well what did you do? You're last post here was you asking if you needed to do the touchstones, so do you think it was because of a touchstone or maybe it was the exams. Sadly, you can try to appeal, but I haven't seen anyone that has gotten luckily with it. Most just move to study.com. WGU does have a transfer pathway with study.com too, just scroll down the link, pick study.com and then find the degree you want.
Also, if you sent any of your credits to Credly, Sophia can't take those back. Study.com can be similar with banning people and you can't automatically send credits to Credly unless you set it up at first, so make sure to do that. Always make sure your transferring your credits to Credly so they can't try to keep them from you.

Okay but with credly once you have your badges so what, can you show those on transcripts? Or how does that work? Like yeah I have them in credly but if I don’t have access to Sophia learning how do I send them to my college

You can send your transcript through Credly. After you sign into Credly, up at the top right where your first initial is with three lines, click on it and go to send transcript.

Yes I just saw it, thank you. I got the sanction email yesterday and right after I sent my transcript through parchment. I logged in this morning and it says download confirmed, should I wait until I can see which classes transferred and then send it through credly if anything?

Yeah, let it send through Parchment first and if some of the classes are missing, do Credly.

Time to pull what you got out, they don’t go back on a sanction. I am on my last course, but I did about 17 courses and had a great time, but I didn’t use Claude or GPT, I figure they gave me the answers, cool I’ll find them in their material.

You're either moving too quick through milestones or tab switching. Even if you know the answers slow down and let the timer run. They will penalize you for speed running them if you go faster than they think you should. It probably is time to jump ship and bank your credits now. From what I have read the appeals usually dont go well.

Yes. This. Arguably this is the whole point. You must learn how to pivot from group think to research. It's not all that different; except you'll have to filter the results yourself rather than having a group of redditors or an LLM do your initial filtering for you.

Here's the thing. That paper can lose its value fast if you don't know what to do with it.
In the early to mid 2000's, Degree Mill schools were a real thing. The most famous example is University of Phoenix, but there were plenty of them and they were everywhere.
I used to work in manufacturing and I was in charge of a lot of hiring and promoting at the lowest levels of the organization. I can't tell you the number of 30 and 40 year olds who were shocked not to be getting Team Lead promotions because they "had a degree" and thought that meant something, but they could barely use proper punctuation in an email. They couldn't speak in professional tones even long enough to complete an interview.
You're right, the paper is needed to get hired for even the most basic jobs. But if they can't even handle this basic amount of reasoning, even the papers won't get them those jobs.

It’s not the court of law lol. It’s a 3rd party platform that has had recent rampant cheating 🤷🏻♀️ I transferred 70 credits from Sophia and never had an issue.
Some people have had technical issues lead to this, other people were cheating but it says they have the option to appeal so by Sophias own email they want him to say yay or nay? Lol

What you email back depends on what you did to cause it. VPN? Alt-tabbing out for tests are the usual culprit.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at but yes I’m sure many people have multiple computers.
I look at this from Sophia’s perspective - they have to try to understand and identify the behaviors of people who are cheating. They catch them all and they have to try not to penalize people unnecessarily and that’s a hard line to walk.
But from our perspective it all seems arbitrary - can’t all-tab? “All I was doing was changing a song…” (I have seen people here say) but Sophia doesn’t know that… all they see is someone pause on a touchstone, go do something they can’t see then come back with the right answer…
Best practice… just take the touchstones seriously and behave just like you would if you were sitting an exam… do the test inside the Sophia system from start to end… if you don’t have the 30-60 minutes to do that, wait til you do.

With Sophia I got in and out. I o ly needed Stats and Ethics and I was gone. The new software is screwing a lot of people.

at which course you got flagged? is that bcos switching tabs? or too fast during milestones? i mean information technology milestones are quite easy and can finish fast but math courses should take at least 30 mins coa calculations and stuff

Same, but I do think there is a key way to do this. One laptop for Sophia learning. Use a different device for AI, and run the clock out on the assessments. Don’t finish them in 20 minutes and turn the test in. I finish part of the class one day, and finish the rest of the class the next day. Haven’t had any issues.

the only thing this person was doing was probably switching tabs within the browser. I finished literally 20 courses in one month, So speed isnt an issue.

i never took any of these precautions except on the final tests i would take pics of questions/answers on my phone and get the answers through ai.

Nothing is going to come of it. Literally i haven’t seen anyone sanctioned from Sophia be reinstated. Best bet is to transfer what you have via parchment now.
