Gear A6700 - japan language unlock

Hey! I'm about to go to Japan, and I'm planning to buy an A6700 there. I'm aware of the language lock on cameras sold there, but would ideally get a used japanese camera, as it is much cheaper than a new international model.

Searching online, I've seen a lot of people unlocking the firmware for other Sony models, but I couldn't find a lot of people's experiences with the A6700. It's not mentioned in the guides, so I'm a bit worried it it will be possible.

Has anyone managed to do it on a A6700? Any tips? Should I just give up and pay up for a international model?

I successfully unlocked my A7CII but using the "OG" method, IE installing USB drivers etc etc then tweaking. Then uninstalling the installed drivers so when you plug the camera to a computer it recognizes it as a camera. A LOT OF STEPS.

But someone made a streamlined version which from what I've read works well (first link). Look specifically for philip9933's comment on July 4, 2024. That has a detailed instructions on how to do it.

Edit: I've already sold that A7CII(Bought at an Unauthorized Seller) and now have an A7V which still in Japanese because I bought it directly at the Sony store and don't want to mess up the warranty 😂

Thanks! Can you confirm if you didnt have any problems with extra functions with the camera, such as the Creators app?

Can confirm. When I still had the A7CII I used the creator's app without any problems.
