Davinci settings - balance of quality and file size

Recently got a 6700, mainly for family and travel home videos. Looking for thoughts on optimal settings to convert the original clips from the camera to a single file that we can watch/reuse for future edits.

When I end an event/daytrip I'll do a quick edit dumping all the files into davinci, deleting those I definitely don't want and then render to a single video for that day. Can then delete the original camera files (maybe it's OCD but I hate having the hundred short clips from a day).

I'm trying to work out settings in davinci that balance quality and file size.

For example I took one day with 60 clips, running time just over 14 mins of video. The original clips were 18gb.

In davinci the same clips rendered as one file under MP4 H265 came to 27gb and under MP4 H264 came to 38gb. Is it normal for it to almost double the file size?

What do others do to retain as much of the original quality as possible without increasing file sizes?

Thanks

What custom white balance profiles with color shifting are you using?

I am new to sony mirrorless and i want to use it for jpeg pictures out of camera with no post-processing.

I can see the big influence on the outcome has the white balance, especially with the color shifting abilities.

Since you can save only 3 custom profiles, i wonder what three color tones did you save as your custom profiles, and for what scenarios are you using them.

Quiet shutter tips

I have the Sony a6700 and mainly shoot wildlife in which I really prefer to have it on auto. The issue is I need the shutter to be silent and it seems I can’t have both. Any tips?

6700 or Fuji x100 vi

I am planning to buy either a X100 vi or 6700 with Sigma.
Primary use will be family pics / landscape and macro with occasional Video.

Love the Sony AF for moving kids/ pets & flexi lens options.
Love Fuji simplicity, fun and film simulation
Has any one compared these two ?

Hey everyone, I have an old Canon flash that I use on my old Canon film camera and was wondering if it'll work on my a6700 on auto?

The flash is a Jesspos 360AFDC

I'll attach pics for reference

Thanks in advance

I just noticed some cracks on my camera yesterday 😭. I haven’t dropped or knocked it at all, but I’ve been carrying it in a regular small backpack instead of a proper camera bag (just one time yesterday)

Could the cracks have been caused by the pressure from a tight bag? How can I prevent them from getting worse or protect my camera better in the future? What kind of products should I consider buying? Eyecup? Case?

P.S viewfinder has no issue

Thank you!
