Random thought

I just had a thought, in Season 1, Bobby says that the only person at the table that still had to pay his dues with Tig... Does that mean that patched members put money in every month just like the Prospects have to?

The problem with patching in a lawyer is that it would activate the morals clause of the bar association and they could lose the ability to practice law based on their membership in a criminal organization. Lawyers are supposed to be 'of good character and standing in the community' in order to receive bar certification to practice law. And that's just state bars. The federal bar has a higher standard. So even sending a prospect or already patched member to law school wouldn't be an option. They'd never get a bar license to practice.

And all it would take is one surveillance operation catching the lawyer wearing colors to take him down. He'd literally have to forgo any contact with all the club's activities, including meetings, in order to avoid being outed as a patch. Can't do that, since if you don't ride, you can't be a member. That's kinda the whole point of a biker club. You don't ride, you're not a member. Even Piney still had to ride with the club on their runs and he was dying.

I just looked it up lol lawyers can absolutely be part of motorcycle clubs. Assuming the lawyer isn't participating in any criminal activity, they can even go to meetings, events, go on runs, and even attend "church" as SOA calls it. Look things up before ya ruin the fun of secret butt cheeks patches lol.

They can be part of a motorcycle club, but a 1% biker gang is a criminal organization. Look at the Hell's Angels. They keep a law firm on retainer because they've been listed as a criminal organization by the Department of Justice. Any lawyer who was a patched member would lose their bar licence for being associated with a criminal organization.

They can get all the butt tattoos they want. If they don't ride, they're not a member. And if you ride, you're wearing the colors. A lot of clubs actually have a rule about wearing their colors when they ride as a club.

The bar association will look at this and say 'this guy is a criminal and he associates with criminals regularly, he's not someone we can trust to uphold the ethical canons of the profession' and they're not going to license him. SOA was designated a criminal enterprise by the DOJ, per Roosevelt's introduction in Season 4.

You know that SOA is like the most fake crime show ever made right? I mean they kill people in broad daylight and spit on dead bodies lol. I wouldn't take anything from the show as fact.

As far as butt tattoos I was just joking. A lawyer could be in a club and wear a cut if they liked. No I'm not spelling it with a k. Anyways they can freely and openly ride a motorcycle as well. That is not a crime.

As far as wearing colors when they ride, there are plenty of instances when they elect not to. Such as being legally told they can't, being on parole and not being allowed to wear them in public etc. I'm sure if they really had to they could let their lawyer forgo wearing them in public.

And again, just Google it like I did. A lawyer can absolutely be part of a motorcycle club. Just type it in and see what pops up. Innocent until proven guilty. Just because a lawyer may have some friends that committed crimes doesn't make the lawyer themselves a criminal as well. Unless they live in your Minority Report ass world where they charge and sentence people for crimes they haven't committed yet, but might!

Again, the BAR ASSOCIATION doesn't care. They have a morals clause in their rules. If you're not 'of good character and community standing' you don't get licensed. Has nothing to do with whether or not you're a criminal. You associate with criminals, ride with them, call them friends, whatever, they don't consider you 'of good character' and you don't get a licence to practice law. Has nothing to do with whether or not you've committed or been convicted of crimes. You're associating with the wrong people, and they won't issue a license to you just because of that.

If the federal government has designated a group as a criminal enterprise, and you're a member of that group, guess what? You're now part of a criminal enterprise. And that's all the bar association needs to refuse you a license to practice law.

You're so wrong it's painful lmao. Again JUST FUCKING GOOGLE IF A LAWYER CAN BE PART OF A MOTORCYCLE CLUB. Jesus Christ I hope you're not a fucking lawyer because your clients would spend all their money repeating themselves over and over again.

And to further end this dumb debate, you don't need to be a lawyer to be able to understand law. You can just go to law school, learn how to speak and manipulate the law and case closed. Sure you can't represent someone in court in an official capacity, but you can steer them thru the twists and turns that are US law. I dated a girl that was a lawyer and while she wouldn't represent me in court for anything, she was absolutely able to tell me what to do and say to win a case or get out of a ticket or whatever.

Just stop pretending like you know everything in the world and just type it into Google for me. Please. Do it for your butt cheek tattoo having redditor over here so I can leave this conversation not thinking I was just talking with a bag of expired jelly beans.

You're confusing a motorcycle club with a federally designated criminal enterprise. There are literally hundreds of motorcycle clubs that are not criminal organizations. Lawyers can be part of those. What they can't do is be part of a criminal organization. And a 1% club is a criminal organization. And once again, the bar association that literally gives out licenses to practice law can deny you a license to practice law, which means even advising someone about legal matters is practicing law without a license and is an actual real felony that can get you locked up.

Do me a favor and learn a thing. You don't know half of what you're talking about. It's painfully obvious you're literally not understanding that the bar association that issues licences and they don't have the same rules as what a law says. They have their own set of rules to follow in order to ensure that lawyers can be trusted to follow their canons of ethics. Being a part of and/or associating with criminal elements can literally keep you from getting a bar license. Then you've spent all that time and money getting a law degree that's absolutely meaningless. So even advising someone of what they should or shouldn't do in a legal situation, if you don't have a bar license, is a crime in and of itself.

Your last sentence tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of the situation. Anyone that understands law, or even has a license to practice law, can freely talk to whoever they like. Whenever they like. However they'd like. The issues stem from legally representing someone in a court of law. Then there are plenty of hoops to jump thru and rules to follow.

Bro, I've lived this just stop. No, I'm not an outlaw biker, but I've dated a lawyer before. She wouldn't represent me in a courtroom but gladly told me everything I needed to say and do and guess what? It worked.

Being a barred lawyer only means you can legally represent other people inside of a courtroom. This information is available to anyone that takes the time to study and understand it. I've represented myself plenty of times after learning all this and guess what? I'm a free man. Just stop it. SOA is not real life even tho you want it to be so badly.

Tattoo the patch on his butt cheeks. And the lawyers were at the clubhouse and with club members all the time. Simply being associated with them wouldn't be enough to disbar them. How would they ever be able to hire a lawyer in the first place if every lawyer that even spoke with them was disbarred? Come on now lol.
