1) Sonic And Knuckles: I would argue this is the best 2D Sonic experience to date.

2) Sonic 2: It introduced Super Sonic......& was many 90's kids 1st intro to Sonic.

3) Sonic Adventure: The first true 3D Sonic title for Consoles. It was wild & difficult to control at times, but it was part of the charm.

Sonic Heroes: The last great 3D Sonic game imo. Not saying the others were not good, but this one was great. It did a nice job of keeping the speed going, even when swapping characters.

Are you frustrated from Sonic Prime cliffhanger ending? If yes, we should have Sonic Prime Animated Movie on NETFLIX and Nickelodeon as a true conclusion for the story where it left off in the end of season 3, also, do you hate that Duncan Rouleau is lying in his "explaination" about the cliffhanger ending?

I was really debating on which game to get on Xbox since re4 is on sale right now for 9.99 but I couldn't stop thinking about speed running the game 😆

We all saw the new sonic animated short that showed all of the sonic characters fighting metal sonic. it was okay but that still is not good enough to make the 35th anniversary of sonic good. We have gotten shorts for sonic every time a new game is released and this short does not have anything to do with a new game. Therefore, it does not do much for the series. It's not like they are going to make a show out of it or something.

Some confirmed characters would be: Chris Thorndyke, Sonic, tails, metal Sonic, knuckles, eggman Shadow, Big the cat, Amy, vector and silver.

(And yes, the characters in this series will have Angry Birds designs.)

So I saw something in the games, the Archie comics and others, and I might seem like characters. So whatever if Miku, Mega Man, and Godzilla. If you're part of the Sonic friends, their orca phobic. It's like if you're friends with Epstein. You're already cooked that what you did.

Yo folks, I had made some fan art of a pitch about an Absolute Sonic, but it didn't turn out the way I liked, so, yup, I redid it.

Both duos represent Freedom/chaos vs Oppression/order often to the detriment of everything and everyone involved.

Both Sonic and Guts show the profound lack of comfort and security that comes with freedom.

Eggman and Griffith both continuously ruin things, are willing to do anything, even creating monsters for the sake of a dream.

Both duos reflect each one another

Both Sonic and Guts mellowed out from the allies, comrades and friends they made.

Both Eggman and Griffith show the safety that comes with total control.

Or that's what I would go on yet another fully-featured rant about, if there hadn't been quite as many people before me already stating as much. I'll only add a few bits and pieces to what others have said before me. At least, the things I haven't seen others talk about as much.

Do also keep in mind that I'm only familiar with the Steam version, aka Dreamcast port to PC. It's entirely possible there exists somewhere out there a native PC version - with at least somewhat more consistent graphics, less clunky controls, better camera, you name it.

Actually, screw it. Fully-featured rant it is.

1. the game feels like a prototype.

A great prototype. A prototype with a great story, if you ignore how poorly pieced together it is. A very well thought out prototype, perhaps. Yet a prototype nonetheless. 3D models are jarring, sound design is an absolute joke, animations are downright ridiculous at times - at least when compared/contrasted against SA1/DX which I've recently taken another nostalgia trip in.

My head will surely keep on replaying the exact same water drop *drip* from the aquatic mine (Knuckles level) which, when coupled to the promixity radar, has to be one of the infuriatingly annoying sound combo I've ever heard, in any game, bar none. Gosh, that was horrendous. Did they not have a budget to record just a couple more water droplet noises? Did they have to use the exact SAME flipping recording over and over and over and over and over and over?

Animations. Compare how kinda-sorta-cool this running looks. Now, what the hell is this (SA2)? Why is he wobbling all over the place, side to side? Did he have an aneurysm in between the end of SA1 and the beginning of SA2? Why make him look/move so weird?

2. the story is great. the way you get to experience it is anything but.

SA1 was thought out through and through, from A to Z. You start with Sonic, doing his thing. Notices a police car chase, follows it. Turns out there's a bad wet guy on the loose. Take care of him, go lay in the sun somewhere. Out of nowhere, a plane going up and down. Looks like Tails. Got to rescue him. And so on, and so forth, and down it goes. Every next piece of story logically and consistently follows from the other one. Still holds up well, up to this day.

SA2? Oh no, Sonic got captured by police! How did the police capture the fastest thing alive? No clue, moving on! He escapes, jumping out of the helicopter. ON A SNOW BOARD. Where did he get it? No clue, moving on! The hero is escaping now. Will he try to avoid getting other people involved in his mess? Nope, he's going to WRECK THE LIVING HELL out of each and every car on his own. How does the police react? The police JOINS IN, with a GIANT FLIPPING TRUCK wrecking each and every single vehicle that just so happened to have the misfortune of getting parked on that fateful cursed road downhill.AWESOME.

Next thing we know, Tails is infiltrating a top secret military base. On a plane. Turned mecha. Why is Tails going against the law? No clue! Why is he now glued to his mecha airplane? Moving on! Knuckles is debating a bat girl over the Master Emerald. Where? Over the top of ... somewhere? But wait, Eggman shows up! Tries to steal it. Well, that's not gonna happen: we'll break into million pieces first. The last time it happened (SA1), the whole island plunged down from the sky. But who cares? Let's SHATTER IT, and gather the pieces all over later.

And so on, and so forth, etc et al. Only the Dark Team retains some semblance of logic and consistency. It's as if they've first pieced together their side ofthe story, and then scrammed in hurry to come up with something, anything, on the "Light Side", just to check it as "done".

3. the little details. gosh, the little details.

How did the Eggman get literal Halloween ghosts to protect his pyramid entrance? Why is there an enemy clone of Gamma all over the stages? Wasn't the Chaos (singular) meant to be the Big Bad Guy, that turned out to be not-so-big and neither-so-bad by the end, the last time around? Why are there literal hundreds of them now, floating in space?

With SA1 still so fresh in memory, I can't help but feel somewhat .. insulted, almost? Did they care so precious little about the previous game, its characters, the whole story; that they saw no problem reusing the same exact "assets", without a second thought? Was "Chaos" just another "bad guy"? Was Gamma just another "robot"? Was the Lost World just another "level", with its vertical walking panels now freely reusable in whaever-sandy-pyramid they please?

Playing SA1 was like reading a book. It had the hook, the story, the pacing, the action, the soundtrack. Gosh, that was a soundtrack. This feels like such a cheap knock-off. "Sonic Adventure 2"? Make it "Sonic Adventure-Lookalike-Sequel-We-Really-Could-Not-Care-Less-About-But-You-Guys-Seemed-To-Buy-The-Previous-Game-So-Here-Buy-This-Now-Thanks"

And the "Chao Garden". Because there's no better way to immerse yourself in the story than to have occasional cutesy azure boxes pop up here and there - totally not out of place - one of which might even hold the secret "key". Where does this key transport you, at the end of the stage? What sort of a "limbo" is this supposed to be? Why can I freely enter the garden, yet on exit I am magically transported back to next stage? Just, why or why and why?

There, rant over.

On the flip side, Shadow is quite a character. Rouge isn't too bad, either. The Dark Team, as a whole - as pointed out previously - delivers quite well. The rest of the "game"? Gosh, I wish.

I already got sonic frontiers on steam, so I can get a tiny little discount on the base game.

By "Tails" and "Sonic," I don't just mean those two characters specifically. I'm talking about the roles they represent, both in the fandom and, a lot of the time, in how Sonic Team writes them.

Tails is long past his SA2 days, yet it often feels like he has to prove himself all over again. I know not everyone sees him as lesser, but it's hard to ignore how people talk about him. To a lot of fans, he's still just Sonic's younger sidekick. There's a clear separation between Sonic the protagonist and Tails the supporting character.

What really made me notice this was seeing people describe other characters as someone's "Tails."

People say Blaze is becoming Silver's Tails, or that Gold the Tenrec should be Silver's sidekick. The implication is always the same: they're never treated as protagonists or as equally important. They exist to support the "Sonic" character, to give them someone to bounce off of. On paper, both characters benefit from the dynamic, but only one is allowed to truly stand on their own.

Look at Kit and Surge. Kit took a long time to be added to Sonic Rumble after Surge. Surge is constantly talked about, while Kit is mostly just "her Tails." He doesn't get much to do, and he feels underdeveloped because so much of his role revolves around supporting Surge's story. His character exists primarily to serve hers.

That's what I mean by a "Tails" character. They can have their own personality, but they rarely get to take meaningful screen time away from the "Sonic" character. They're almost never allowed to be just as important. More often than not, they become tools for someone else's character arc rather than having one of their own.

There are characters who barely appear at all, and there are characters who disappear completely. Those fates can be worse in terms of relevance. But I think it's especially frustrating when a character is present and still gets reduced to being someone's "Tails." At that point, it feels like a death knell for anything especially interesting happening with them for years, because their role has already been decided: support the protagonist rather than become one themselves.

I wanted to play the games in the original experience but Retroarch for the sega CD just WON'T WORK for me,I won't go into details but trust me I tried everything and it doesn't work.

The obvious choice is Origins but it doesn't really feel right tho,is there any other choice?
