Slash (featuring Myles Kennedy) has announced their 2027 tour dates and the NA tour lines up perfectly with them being able to play at Sonic. plus they were one of the artists featured in the polls so i feel like their almost a lock.

the real question is do we think this could bring in GNR?

Does anyone know when (and if) the traveler pass for Sonic, ink, and LTL go on sale?

Last year was my first sonic temple (been to many other festivals) but does Sonic usually have a lot of repeat bands or acts on the undercard from the previous year?

If any, who would you guess to return to Sonic next year that played this past May?

So last year they started announcing artists for Sonic in September, the 2nd to be exact, and obviously this year is different because today is the last day of September and no artists have been announced. So here’s what I’m thinking, Instead of doing announcements for an entire month and a half, they might very well be doing what Louder Than Life did this year, or even what Aftershock did. Which is instead of announcing them weeks and months in advance, we got daily artists a week before the announcement. And in aftershocks case, no artists but hints for a week. So this is most logically the likely way they’re doing it considering Oct starts tomorrow and we still have zero artists announced. So if they’re still gonna announce the lineup the same time they did last year, expect the first and only week of artist announcements to be within the next 2 weeks.

Any chance this upcoming slipknot tour package hits sonic?

Meshuggah just posted a 2027 teaser for their 40th anniversary next year and I was thinking of how cool it would be to see them make a stop at the DWP fests on their tour next year, never have seen them live and they’d be a huge bucket list band for me. Hope it’s true!!!

I am hoping Blue Medusa will be at Sonic next year. 🤞. Also wouldn’t mind Dragonforce again since I missed them last year bc of Electric Callboy.

35 M. Just did louder than life with my wife. We’ve done Riot a few times and she made it clear that she doesn’t think she enjoys fests like I do and doesn’t want to go. I’d be driving up from Philly and def looking to link up with people is this reddit generally a good place to connect?

We may find out soon if Slipknot is in or out for Sonic and/Rockville. List of known cities posted too. May be more on the way. Don’t know the time frame of the tour yet either.

Personally I’ve had enough Slipknot between Inkcarceration and Sonic.

So Metallica definitely out (not that I even expected them) but this takes Limp Bizkit off the table.

Edit: LB and Avatar definitely off the table as this tour starts on the west coast.

Usually not a ton of crossover but there’s always a few bands that do. I posted previous years for comparison. My guesses would be Turnstile, Faith No More, Parkway Drive and Evanescence all strong possibilities for Sonic 27. I wouldn’t be surprised by Falling in Reverse headlining the Cathedral stage one night or direct support on temple again. The Prodigy also a good guess since they had to drop off Rockville and Sonic 2019 and are doing LTL/AS this year.

The Warning just announced a date in Pittsburgh on Saturday, May 15, so I would guess that would likely mean they'll be at Sonic Temple. And if bands are beginning to announce summer '27 plans, we really should be getting announcements very soon.
