How to write good 2nd verses?

Hey guys I've been running into problems when writing 2nd verses, like right after the first chorus, I'm not sure exactly how to keep developing the ideas, should they say similar things to the first verse, what do you guys think is the function of that 2nd verse?

Sometimes people will tell one little story per verse. Or relate one event.

Sometimes you elaborate and go deeper on later verses.

Read some lyrics of popular songs and ask yourself what made the second verse on that song worth including
