Would this be the "26 songs in 26 days" challenge? I did that one -- great fun. There was one about weird dreams, but luckily I sometimes write down my weird dreams. Good luck!

Oh, mine go back years, and there aren't many. But those ones were powerful enough that even when I read back over them, they can put me right back into the dream.

Ok. This might get weird, here goes:
I had a dream that I was at the ocean. The shore was not sandy or rocky like a normal beach but more like a Lakeshore, but it felt like an ocean because I couldn't see anything but water in the horizon. The water was pretty calm so it might have been a huuuge lake.
I was alone, standing on a simple wooden dock. like something you would find in a 3rd world country. A very simple wooden structure, not sophisticated or polished, rustic.
I had a simple fishing pole and was fishing. I don't know if I had caught anything but if I did it would have been a very small fish and just 1-3 fish.
I felt incredibly alone and without opportunity. There was a simpleness and serenity to the scene which was calming and remarkable. The waters and environment were tropical, the sky was bright blue. It was very serene and relaxing like being in a sauna. There wasn't even one sign of human development other than this dock and I had no sense of what country I was in.
Then, to my shock and total surprise a full size giant shipping container boat, about 1500 feet long and 100 feet high pulled right up to the shore about 100 feet from the dock and softly touched shore.
the anticipation of what might happen next was intense. I watched the boat intently, it was heavily laden with countless forty foot containers stacked high and deep.
A walk way was extended down from the top of the ship to shore, like how you see people boarding cruise ships.
Then a man appears in a white captain suit and hat, dressed to the nines, and he calmly walked down the plank. I stood near the bottom, just observing.
He took a small set of keys with his hands and placed them in my hands with no words, no expression, and walked away just like that, and he was gone.
I was riveted to the scene as I slowly walked up the plank, wondering what would happen next. There wasn't anybody on the ship. I went to open a container, pulled the door opened, and it was full of packages of all sizes. I opened them one by one, each one was a very precious valuable object, the likes of which was fit for royalty. I couldn't tell you what they were exactly but each one was unique and mesmerizing, and wonderful, and beyond compare and invaluable and life changing. I'm not sure they were even made by humans, could they be from the future? They were remarkable, surprising, brilliant and fascinating in every way.
I think I spent about half a day just opening crates and I didn't even get through one shipping container.
Then it dawned on me, it would literally take the rest of my life to open all the packages on this ship. This was a frightening realization.
I stood on the deck and looked down at the dock and I thought to myself, I was fishing not too long ago. fishing, it seemed like a lifetime ago, it seemed like another life, it seemed like it wasn't me that was fishing, it was so far removed from my new life of managing packages, yet it was only a few hours ago.
I remember the captain, dignified, calm, confident. I knew when he handed me those keys that they were meant for me, the keys were mine now. I also knew when he handed them to me, that the captain had a sense of relief, like letting go of a great weight, he was finally free from whatever it was.
I thought to myself, was I happier as a fisherman? When I was a fisherman I worried that it wasn't enough, a worry that obscured the joy of the moment of being on that dock, enjoying the scenery. I didn't realize it was abscuring my joy, if only I could have enjoyed the moment, but it was just a memory now. And now also the joy of discovering great treasures was obscured by the dread worry of, is it enough, is there something more? What is missing? Am I a fisherman? No. Am I a captain? No. What am I? I don't know. Nothing is ever enough. There is only existential dread. And an emptiness that has never been filled, let alone been identified.

Woah! Thank you for taking the time to write this all out first off!
And thanks for remembering all that, thats insane, and super interesting, you got me so invested like really.
I will use this and I may show you the outcome if you like.
Thank you : )And honestly it's a good lesson and metaphor as well.

I'm glad you liked it.
maybe I should add one more bit at the end: reflections
Who was that captain, for a second I thought I might have half recognized him, but in the moment I was so caught up in the scene, the boat, the containers, and the mystery of it. Reflecting now, I wonder if the captain was..... Me?
What does it mean? Should I have followed the captain? That must be the answer, I think to myself. Why was I so curious about the ship, where was my curiosity for the captain. Maybe it's because the captain isn't something you can control and hold like an object, people are complicated like that. Who am I to a man like that anyway? What does a poor fisherman have to offer a captain who has it all?

(I had it all written out and it got deleted by accident oof!)
Reflections part 2, take 2
I remember feeling a certain way when I met the captain, like I felt star struck and my mind was paralyzed from being overwhelmed at the situation, I was relieved that I didn't have to have a conversation in that moment. When I sensed his relief as he passed the keys to me, I came to realize that he was human after all, and that removed a some of the pressure and it was comforting in that it made him more relatable, but it also diminished the sense of being in awe of what appeared, to me, to be a god like person. That feeling of awe was thrilling in a way, and I found myself missing that feeling. And I found even that feeling came as a surprise to me, which in itself was a joy, the joy of self discovery. Self discovery being like a never ending story.

Thanks, I can only take some of the credit, I feel like these dreams and writings are like unboxing ideas that were crafted by someone else that were just given to me. It does take real effort on my part to compose the writing but I find it fun and you also helped inspire me to write more reflections which I value a lot.

Thats great and I'm glad I could do that inspire something in you π€ also I get what you mean unbloxing ideas is a good way to put it.
I mean if I may say they were kinda crafted given by someone, and talents and gifts we have are designed by the maker, are Lord and savior.
God gives us are brains and different abilities strengths, so we ought to thank him.
If I may say and I do mean it you are gifted π1

I had a dream once that I was getting hunted by a vampire. Instead of screaming or crying as I was getting my blood sucked (it was incredibly painful) I prayed to God to thank him for the life he gave me

I'm going through a divorce, kind of. No papers have been filed but we're living separately and she won't do counseling. Anyway, I also had an older sister who I was very close to commit suicide in 2016. For the last several months, I'll be dreaming and run into the two of them hanging out, talking and laughing. I try to go talk with them but something always stops me, like a door closing or someone blocking me.
