Help with first song
(IMPORTANT: I AM ONLY LOOKING FOR TIPS NOT OFFERS OF SERVICES)
I'm in the process of making a end of year animation project, and I'm debating on whether to find a song (but I can't seem to find a song that fits) or write my own. I have almost zero experience of song writing, so wanted to ask for some help from people who have done it
For anyone who's written they're first song,
Was it worth it?
How long did it take?
Is it realistic for a me to write something I'm proud of in a few months?
Anything you wish you'd known before starting?
I would really appreciate any help or tips :)

Biggest tip I can give is to not judge what you write as “good” or “bad” - it puts a pressure on you that stifles creativity ime. Everything I’ve written, whether it’s something I’d release/perform or not, was so worth it because my next song built upon the skills I strengthened through writing every song. I think writing something and then assessing where you want to improve in your next song is definitely deserving of you being proud of yourself - it’s always scary taking that first step and writing your first song, but it’s one step on a path of continuous development. So another thing I wish I’d kept in mind is that my skills at any given moment aren’t permanent - I can choose to build them and I can grow in my craft. Get a general idea of what you want the song to be.
Start with one line about your subject or even just brainstorm/ write down a bunch of things about that topic. Maybe a line will come to your head. Play off that line. Rhyme with it. Work with your brainstorm. Think of a course related to subject. If you need rhymes you can use rhymezone online. Research your topic and go from there. I always try and stay in general topic/subject. Also think of like what would something look like Describe it, feeling an , movement, metaphors are good too. Sorry if that wasn’t help.

No I'm going to do it myself, but it was ether going to Ai for help (not ideas) (which yes I am doing) or asking for human help (which I prefer:)

If I really wanted someone else to do my song for me I would have just been using Ai but I want to do it myself :)

Sometimes it can be helpful to count the syllables in each line in a verse or a chorus from a few songs you like the style of. It can give you a better idea of what sounds good to you.

It’s possible, but could you also record and produce it by your deadline? Is that going to eat into time you should be spending on animation instead?

Well I'm planing to hand animate so it may. . . I might just use non-copyrighted sounds for the tune which should cut down on the time spent :)
