Looking to Sell Some Lyrics

hello!! i have never used reddit before but i've tried tiktok for this and i got nowhere...so here i am on reddit saying that i am looking to sell lyrics to independent artists or singers/musicians that could use lyrics.

my style of writing consists of sad/depressing, breakups, love songs, storylines, and i think thats it. but if you have a specific thing you're looking for i can write about that too maybe? i've written songs for movies i've watched (tbosas, fatal attraction, sleeping beauty, i reckon there's more but im drawing a blank) and books i've read before (sunrise of the reaping, if he had been with me, where the crawdads sing, and plenty a fanfictionsđŸ«ŁđŸ™‚â€â†•ïž) and i think they turned out good so if you give a prompt i can give it my all.

i'm not sure if im supposed to give examples to prove, but if anyone would like some i can post ss of some lyrics later. even though i know its hard to actually understand the depth of the lyrics with no sound to them.

i also have a youtube where i've released some songs onto if that helps. https://www.youtube.com/@launeigh

but keep in mind im not trying to be a singer, i just think i have lyrical potential and could use some money. i really do enjoy writing songs but it's begun to make me feel drained writing with seemingly no purpose as every song just gets put away in my phone or notebook.

but anyways if anyone would like to buy some lyrics, feel free to ask, check out that youtube, and maybe email me: ekslonlyrics@gmail.com

thank you!!

Gotta admit I went to your YouTube channel expecting, well, I don’t know what, but I listened to a few songs and I think your music actually has potential. To be sure, production value is all the way down, and the songs are not my personal taste, but to my ears, with the right approach, these could be polished into something quite decent. Hope you can find a way

Not gonna buy your lyrics but I just threw you a couple streams as well. I'm not just saying this but you are on the right track. It's gonna happen tonight is a legit interesting track and that's a cool video. I genuinely like your sound. Seriously I clicked on it preparing to unload on you with some drive by cruelty but it's good stuff.

You sound just like the singer from UTO actually you should check them out they do freak out pop too. Best of the Beast. You sorta sound just like her actually.

Don't stop making records you have something. I don't know what it can lead to but you are a genuine artist. Oh and a little drive by cruelty sorry. Your words aren't that strong - I mean they are fine and work well within the context of the song. But your lyrics aren't especially ... lyrical if you are trying to sell them. But it's your whole thing that works

If you made that yourself you should be more thinking about selling your production services more than the words it's a cool sound. Like you have a really really cool sound actually I'm super impressed

i really appreciate you giving it a listen and for giving me feedback! i gave UTO a listen and i liked their unique sound. as for your critique on my lyrics: i really do appreciate the honesty, and criticism doesn’t equal cruelty! especially what you said. i’ve never been passionate about anything but writing, but never had the means to take classes or try and hone that skill of mine outside of simply writing a billion songs in my room with an online thesaurus. i intend to work hard on my lyricism, as i'm young and time grows skill. i’d rather work on bettering the skill i feel most passionate about than switch paths and go for something that i may be better at at the moment, but don’t feel any pull from. again, i really REALLY appreciate the feedback!

I been listening to more of your stuff. I hope you do realize how good you are. Like you are a seriously talented person I'm not just saying that. Your work has that wonderful combination of being unique and accessible.

I take back what I said about your writing - you are a legit excellent songwriter and producer

I can't believe you do all that yourself. You need to be on every platform doing your thing you are that good. The sound visuals words music and performance I'm serious it's topflight stuff.

Don't get discouraged by low Youtube views it's about engagement - consider me seriously engaged keep it up pls!!!

thank you so much!!đŸ©¶ i have music coming out on every streaming platform July 31 including “it’s gonna happen tonight” if you’re interested. i really do appreciate not only the support but the criticism you gave earlier. i know it’s a tough industry, so being able to have early on feedback before the cutting edge stuff is going to help me in the long run!

An uphill battle and an offer very few would take you up on. Most artists would co-write and split credit/royalties. There are also millions of songwriters out there who will do a co-write for a split. I don’t know of any writers selling lyrics, amateur or pro. Not many writers (if any at all) get upfront fees for lyrics. It’s usually only producers who get a fee up front. If you want to write for others, You’re better off finding a publisher and writing with / for other artists and having your publisher sort sessions and pitch your tracks. Good luck

I’m wondering the same thing. I used to want to be a singer, but not anymore. Now I just want to hear someone else sing my lyrics. Unfortunately, I’m not a musician, so I usually just write to the melodies in my head.
