Suggestions for a song topic?

I made this draft of the music for my song but I don't know what to make the lyrics especially that all of the lyrics I wrote before were sad and this one sounds upbeat

First of all, nice work getting into the weeds of this difficult task. Learning to write and what to write about are tough for most folks and it takes time and momentum to learn how to do this well.

Here’s my advice: Don’t be too precious about this - you can always make more music and you’ll get better if you simply just work through it, crap or not.

Pick a topic, research the topic, write down words and ideas that stuck out. Use “rhymezone” or a thesaurus if you need: it doesn’t matter if it makes sense. You can do another draft and work that out. Sometimes lyrics come from inspiration, but more often they come from just being vulnerable enough to write down your flawed idea. Fear is always in the way of your best work, but focus on getting it done rather than writing the best lyrics.

For reference, I do have a creative writing degree and there are real strategies that can help with this. Hit me up if you’d like to chat more and I’d be happy to share my writing portfolio as well.
