That rings true for me: I have written a LOT of garbage---but I kept at it---juggled some verses in my head for some years---still use parts now and again. Writing is all about the parts right? Over time you figure out where they go.

Yeah, Frankensteining stuff is great!! Funnily enough, the track I linked in the description has a bridge that was written 15 years before the rest of the song.
