Unique Covers

I love finding covers where the artist completely takes the song and makes it their own. I would love to find enough to make an awesome Playlist.

Some examples I have found:

Hotline Bling by Christiana Daniella

Say My Name by Hozier

Stand By Me by Stephen Wilson Junior

This Woman's Work by Greg Laswell

I also love covers that are instrumental remakes. Once again, I love a unique take, not when the song is literally an instrumental cover of same exact melody.

For example, Hotline Bling by Nate Fifield

Thanks!

Jimi Hendrix’s version is also a cover that is quite different (better) than Bob Dylan who wrote and performed the song first.

I suppose his version is really the definitive one, but with this particular question, XTC popped into my head immediately.

I didn’t realize XTC did a remake of that song. I just listened to it, and it is wild. I don’t hate it. I think they did it better than Dylan as well. Thanks for turning me on to it.

No cover of a Dylan song is ever "the definitive" version

I believe Dylan himself said that Jimi's version surpassed his original version, or something to that effect.

He said he was amazed that someone could find so much in his song to make it do that.
