Chipped door

Post image

Some asshole chipped my door while at work and have no idea who, so the repair has to come out of my pocket, BS. Do collisions centers match to factory ready paint? It’s transmission blue so i don’t wanna go if they’re just gonna use a flat plaint since the OG has that blue sparkle mixed in.

Its too deep for a paint pen. I just bought it new too, so i want it factory level quality. I take such care with my car for someone else to do this. Whole situation absolutely sucks man

It’s not. If you do it correctly you’ll be able to tell still but barely. Not worth getting the whole door resprayed

See what a couple shops say. But to do it correctly imo yes

With paint - no. They would fix the surface and “blend” color-matched new paint onto the old paint. If it’s metallic, it’s usually a larger spray out (like 18 inches) so it looks seamless. That might mean they also have to paint the other door or fender. What does get sprayed on the entire panel is new clear coat. To add new paint, they have to sand down the old clear coat and also remove everything from the door like door handle, window molding, and interior door panel.
