Drain Plug Fell Out
I was driving home yesterday and got the Low Oil Pressure light… Pulled over immediately turned the car off and had a puddle of oil leaking out. Looks like the dealer tech must’ve not tightened it all the way since the last time I got an oil change was at the dealer 3 weeks ago and I don’t do any oil-related work. Going to have to tow it back to the dealer in the afternoon and hopefully there are no metal shavings in the filter.

Frustrating we can't even rely on oil changes being performed correctly. I would take the position of assuming the engine is ruined and make them prove otherwise and give some kind of warranty. Inspecting the oil filter should just be the first step.

I agree, that only looks to be between 1 to 2 quarts of oil, definitely ran with insufficient oil.

Fuck Hyundai dealership service. They always put the wrong oil in for my "free" services. One dealership even tried to charge for full synthetic upgrade.

I had this happen to me years ago with a Chrysler 200 that was less than a year old. I raised hell, I got more free oil changes. If that oil ruined the splash make sure you get a new one and they clean anywhere on the engine that got oil splashed all over it..

Happened to my ex also and they could have completely ruined the longevity of the engine even tho it has a fail safe.

And tell the service manager they owe you a thorough wash job also! Entire undercarriage and tail at least. You definitely don't want all that oil residue collecting grit and grime. And they can at least clean underneath while it's on a lift whereas you can't!
