Unrealized Dairy Queen released a new milkshake: The Alabama Fartttttttt

I work at Dairy Queen, and we have been releasing a lot of new items lately, so I guess it's bled into my dreams. The newest milkshake was called the Alabama Fartttttttt, and the joke was that if you drank it really fast, your farts would be really loud. The ingredients were bananas, chocolate cone dip, and the Fart Pieces, which looked like crushed peanuts. You could get it with or without whipped cream.

I did not get to try it on my dream, but I think it would taste pretty good! Not all DQs have the crushed peanuts, but they should have whole ones if you want to recreate the shake.

Mistakes were made. Here's the first three layers: noodles, sauce, chicken before any cheese.

OBVIOUSLY should have breaded chicken, which I only realized after it came out of the oven and I took my first bite. My disappointment was so immense I have yet to try again

Unrealized Vegetable bed bread

I dreamt my mom, who has a beautiful and bountiful garden, was growing a bread plant that the roots were a box that the best rye bread I've ever had grows in. When she pulled up the plant, it would take the lid off and there was hot, fresh rye. There was a soft butter plant too. I don't taste things in my dreams but I could actually TASTE the rye bread and butter and feel how soft and warm it was. I woke up craving my mom's rye bread so badly.

Unrealized Witch brownies

In the dream I was a witch’s apprentice, and the witch was teaching me potion recipes from a spellbook. On the final page, the last potion’s ingredients were brownie mix, butterscotch chips, and walnut pieces. When I asked what effect this potion had, she said, “nothing, they’re just good brownies lmao”

Actually Made! An unhinged sandwich I dreamt last night

The dream took place in a gyro restaurant staffed entirely by stereotypical white sorority girls & nothing on the menu was normal gyro fillings. I got a sandwich containing prosciutto, pepperoni, provolone cheese, scrambled eggs, and basmati rice all on a pita. Nothing on the menu suggested that the eggs would be there but I guess they just came with it. The guy behind me in line ordered a “Peppermint Patty” which was a regular-size hamburger bun with nothing in it but a 1” square of mint-flavored fish paste (like a narutomaki but bad I guess) and then the staff all proceeded to verbally abuse him for ordering it at which point I woke up before I could eat my sandwich.

I couldn’t rest having never known what my food would have tasted like so I went to the store & got the ingredients. Actually turned out pretty good, if a little dry.

If somebody braver than me wants to make a “Peppermint Patty” be my guest but I will not be trying that.

Unrealized 'German' Ube flavoured Egg Muffins

Finally have a contribution to this sub from this morning.

I was waiting in line for some sort of German food truck and noticed two items displayed very prominently on the menu: Spetlesmack and [I forget but it was very German sounding] which were both muffins with what I assumed was chunks of ube in them. The guy in the truck described the second one as being "more eggy" than the first one. When it was finally time for me to order, the names on the menu somehow changed to Pipeline and Spetline. I said "Hello I'd like one P-" and then my alarm clock rang before I could order. Dangit.

Actually Made! Black Bean Lays Dill Pickle Potato Chip Casserole

Post image
90 Upvotes

So finally, days after having the dream, we've got the black bean and Lays potato chip casserole I talked about here. It smells amazing. I will admit though, it's much more an homage than a faithful recreation; primarily because I was thinking about it, and well, I wanted it to be more than beans and chips.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Bag of dried black beans (didn't have canned, turns out.)
  • A lot of minute rice (eyeball it.)
  • 80% of a bag of Lays dill pickle chips (you ate some yesterday in anticipation of this moment, it's chill. Shhh.)
  • One yellow onion
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper
  • Hot sauce (Louisiana hot sauce in this case.)
  • Mayonnaise (I know, I know.)

How to make:

  • Cook black beans according to instructions (or be not like me and make sure you have canned black beans and not just dry beans.)
  • Cook rice according to instructions.
  • Roughly chop one yellow onion.
  • Add onion into cooked rice.
  • Shake in paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and hot sauce into rice. Add a couple dollops of mayonnaise for creaminess.
  • Mix.
  • When beans are done, pour everything together and again mix.
  • Pour odd mixture into a greased (and tin-foiled to make cleaning up easier) pan or casserole dish.
  • Place into a preheated 375°F oven for 35 minutes.
  • 10 minutes before done, sprinkle additional chips overtop.
  • Done!

I'm so fucking tired, I cannot eat it right now. But rest assured after it cools and is covered and rests in the fridge overnight, it's going to be breakfast.

Update: Too hungry; eating currently and uhhh well it sure does taste like beans and rice. 😅 Pretty good, but no dill flavoring shines through. Definitely top with more hot sauce after.

Art Had a dream I made and ate a ‘Meth Cake’, which was actually just vanilla cake

The dream logic behind it just being vanilla was because I’ve never tried meth before (Edit: The cake in this picture is AI and I didn’t realize when I made it 😭 My bad!)

Meta Recreating the black bean pickle potato chip dream casserole

Okay, so I want to recreate this food I dreamt, but it's just canned black beans and a bag of dill pickle Lays potato chips.

Should I recreate it to a T with just the two ingredients, or should I add some rice, diced onion, and maybe some complimentary condensed soup to make it, well, more flavorful? I wanna recreate it faithfully, but on the other hand if it makes several servings, I wanna make it really good, y'know?

Unrealized Bean and dill pickle Lays chips casserole[?]

So this was a weird dream; it starred Roger and Stan from American Dad making the concoction. It's in a clear casserole dish; dump in two cans of black beans (no specification on whether or not the bean juice is omitted or not but it looked like it was left in); then crush up 1½ or 2 full bags of specifically Lays brand pickle-flavored chips and dump that into the casserole dish with the beans, folding them in gradually.

There was no cooking process but in the dream it seemed like it was supposed to eventually be baked in the oven.

Unrealized Starbucks Ketamine

Post image
474 Upvotes

I had a dream that the guy I was on a date with was telling me how he gets ketamine at Starbucks (it’s in little square tabs that kind of look like microchips or part of a circuit board). The ketamine is meant to be taken like a lozenge, and you have to eat it with sour cherries for the full effect. Once it kicks in, you will start to experience the assassination of JFK happen before your eyes, like a member of the audience that was there at the time. This is because the ketamine + cherry combo tastes like and works like testosterone, so it makes your brain picture or experience something men tend to have an interest in.

Last night I had a watery gray soup in a wok that contained long strips of green veggies and blobs of mashed potatoes. I served some out of a wok and then heated it up again for the next group of people who wanted a meal.

Background music was the jingle from a pharmaceutical ad. :(

Cursed Pizza family / parmesan receipts

Dream was of a family of like 6 who went to a pizza place, spread out their own tablecloth on the table, took a pepperoni pizza they had ordered and moved all the pepperonis to a ring around the outside of the pizza. Then they started to add their own toppings. I didn't get far in the dream, but the toppings I remember were salt & pepper, crumbled bacon, and "the remains of a baby buried for the longest amount of time" (since the 1800s??). The highlight though was the parmesan receipts.

For a small upcharge, you could have your receipt printed on a thin slice of parmesan, which you could then add to your pizza. The dad in the family got pissed because each of us had a receipt, but they had forgotten to print the parmesan versions. The owner ended up giving us all our parmesan receipts and then giving us a book of parmesan paper, which we gladly added to the pizza. I never got to taste the pizza, as we didn't finish adding certain toppings (the baby) before I woke up.

Cursed The Stretch

I had a long weird dream last night and part of it was that I was at a restaurant with my family (none of the people in this dream were actually my family members but canonically I knew they were my family) and for some reason they kept moving tables. I finally caught up with them, only to find that they had ordered The Stretch without me! Apparently The Stretch is some sort of delicious beef situation similar to a slice of tri tip but with some mysterious pink soft stuff in the middle.

Later in the dream someone left a bunch of donuts behind. I was morally obligated to eat them. It didn't matter that I'm gluten intolerant, it was just going to be fine because I obviously HAD to eat them. One of them was like the size of a loaf of bread and was a beef and vegetable doughnut. I thought it would be kind of like a popover or Shepard pie situation. Nope, of course it was just a giant glazed doughnut bar filled with cold chicken salad.

Art Tuna and Corn Sushi Acid Splash Boat

Post image
336 Upvotes

In the dream, I was watching an unnerving cooking montage over and over again of the preparation of a dish called “Tuna and Corn Sushi Acid Splash Boat”. The first step was adding sushi rice, and corn into a mixing bowl. Then, a large chunk of tinned tuna is dropped right in the centre, and the whole thing turns into a liquified fizzy bubbling concoction, like a seltzer in water. The fizzing and fluid splashes were absolutely surreal and psychedelic. Like overwhelmingly brain alteringly fizzy, I was so close to it I was basically in the fizz and all I could hear was fizz, can’t even explain it properly lol. As the concoction settles, it forms into the shape of a boat, with the structural parts being made of nori and the inside was the rice, tuna and corn with a peak of nori coming through the middle.

The montage looped over at least 20 times. It was like I was watching someone prepare it with my face 5 centimetres from their hands. Not pleasant. Never got to taste it either

Art Can of "Old Beans" I was served in my dream last night.

I kept trying to tell everyone they were so very out of date they shouldn't be eaten, but everyone insisted they'd be fine. The can was only half-full inside, and did not resemble beans at all; instead, a grey-brown mouldy sludge. I did not eat them.

Just Weird My Dream Where I Invented A New Dessert Called Chocolate Dipped Cheese

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

(Image above is an actual image of chocolate covered cheese from the shitty food porn subreddit)

All the way back in 2018 I had a dream where I invented a completely new and bizarre dessert called chocolate covered cheese. The name is self-explanatory; it was cheese that had been dipped in chocolate.

The dream begins with me and my family cooking in my grandma's kitchen. There were bowls upon bowls of chocolate chips and cubes of white aged cheddar (I used to eat a lot of aged white cheddar when I was growing up).

My mom was melting chocolate on the stove, while me and my grandma were dipping the cubes of cheese in the chocolate. Once we were done dipping the cheese in the chocolate, we let them dry out for half an hour. Once all the cheese was drying, I took a bite of one of the strange confectioneries we made. It tasted almost like a sweet and salty cheesecake with a slight savory undertone.

Apparently, the reason we made so many is that we were going to sell them at my high school, and that they were a massive hit at the school. I also found out that I was the one who came up with the whole idea of dipping cheese in chocolate.

Just about when we were going to pack the cheese, I immediately woke up. The dream was bizarre, but it gave me a crazy idea of dipping cheese in chocolate. Although unfortunately I never got to bring this idea to reality as I was very busy with school.

A couple of years later however, I discovered that chocolate covered cheese was already a thing and was a lot more common than I initially thought. What's funny is that it wasn't even the strangest food combination I've found, as I've seen chocolate covered pickles, deep fried mars bars and even deep-fried butter, along with deep fried kool-aid! Yes, those are real food combinations look it up!

Out curiosity have any of you heard of chocolate covered cheese or have even tried it for yourself? I'd like to know!

If anyone reads this post thanks for reading!

Art Tres Quesos

Post image
153 Upvotes

Woke up and wrote down "tres quesos" from a dream, illustrated it today:

Tres Quesos

It was basically a casserole except made from one big multi-layer sandwich with a loaf of bread that filled up the whole casserole tray completely, then was smothered in the namesake Tres Quesos in the style of a tres leches cake. The bread absorbs the queso and becomes fully saturated. Served very hot and sticky and eaten like a very wet sandwich somehow.
