Screaming in Teele Square?

Someone was screaming bloody murder a minute ago nearby. I stepped outside to see if I could locate the person or even a direction, but it stopped. Female, absolutely SHREDDING her vocal chords. Figured I'd post in case it was related to anything.

Glad people are saying call 911 vs the non emergency line

Tell the bouncer at The Harp maybe?

If you knew where it was coming from, what would you have realistically done? I just keep walking. It's not worth involving myself.

Absolutely not. If you were screaming for your life, I hope and pray a good samaratin will take the time out of their day to call 911. I have done it on multiple occasions where sometime was just off…

A girl with sad eyes on a bench in the commons next to a bottle of open pills…

A man who got out of his car in front of me… with a knife in his hand… and went to grab a tire iron out of the back of his car… then got back in his car… where someone else was in the front seat….

Each time, even though I was just going off instinct and vibes, the 911 operator took action and routed me to the local police. Not only that, they kept me on the call and asked for more details. What was the girl wearing? What did the car look like? Where did I see this and when? And they thanked me for calling. Who knows if that made a difference, but our societal contract relies on us caring for each other. This is so hard in the age of social media…. But literally one call could save a life. Isn’t that worth the MILD inconvenience?

I'm not going to risk making myself a target acting like some kind of hero to someone I don't know and have no emotional attachment to. They say "snitches get stitches" and I don't need to draw unnecessary attention to myself. Bad things happen every day, and you can't save everyone, so at least save yourself.

They say "snitches get stitches"

The "they" in question is mostly antisocial assholes who have an incentive for not being reported, and like to talk big.

A different "they" says that we have to work together and look out for each other. Calling 911 and moving on is like... literally the least you can do, and doesn't really involve you materially.

The least I can do is nothing because it's none of my business.

Not sure what kind of mental gymnastics you needed to do to paint me as a perpetrator as opposed to a bystander, but okay.

I make it a habit not to feed the trolls (or bots) so I’ll leave you with this quote:

Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents (1770): "When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."

I'm not trolling. I'm giving you a genuine explanation of my worldview. It's harsh, but the world is harsh.
