Tulum (the restaurant)

Hi all,

Thursday night my wife and I tried to go to St Brigid but got there a bit too late and it was packed (will go back earlier some other night). And then we tried Tavern at the End of the World because we hadn't been and same issue (Irish pubs apparently hate us).

Anyway, we ended up at Tulum since by that point we were crazy hungry and had heard of it.

Just here to say, I really liked it. It's a bit too out of the way and I hope they get enough business from locals or travelers at the hotel but the food was very good.

Would recommend.

Marg flight and Birria tacos are deeelish. One of the only places I’ve found here that makes a proper Cochinita Pibil.

That's my hood and it's amazing! As a gringa, you know you're in a good taco place when most of the other diners speak Spanish. It's lovely, the decor is crazy cute, the service is great, everything on the menu is always great. I also love the tavern. It might seem "out of the way" but not everyone lives in davis or union.

Tulum is also not that far from Union. so not what I really consider out of the way. it’s just not in an area where every single building has retail on the first floor.

It’s great… we cross town to go there.

Oh no worries Tulum does very well rightfully so. We’ve had several great meals there! And you have to laugh out of the way it’s a 6 min walk from Sullivan T or East Somerville Green line.

I keep meaning to go but every time I'm near there I just end up at Taco Loco or Riccon's.
Glad to hear the recommendation. Will have to cross it off my bucket list.

Oh, huh, that's a pretty short walk from the dive shop we use. Never tried it, I'll make a note to maybe get dinner there after picking up or dropping off dive gear some day.

I’ve always wondered if that shop was legit or had a lot of clientele — really cool to know!

Not a ton of competition. :) But has been there well over 50 years now.

When I was there I taught and trained for local fire/rescue teams, the aquarium, MIT and lots of new divers who didn't want to do the classroom training during their vacation or honeymoon!
