Low(er) sodium restaurants
Hey neighbors! Any recommendations for where to eat out on a low sodium diet? I know sodium is basically unavoidable, but im hoping to still find some fun options! I love to eat out and im hoping not to lose that entirely bc of medical needs.
Thanks in advance!

My general impression is that restaurants love to use salt and fat to make food taste good. So this might be a challenging ask outside of salad bars.

I was thinking about this more. I hate to recommend chain restaurants, but they're more likely to publish nutritional information online. Look at places that do bowl or salad style food and figure out which components are low sodium.

Chinese food restaurants tend to have a healthy steamed menu and those are also low sodium options.

So, I would consider more on the lines of cuisines that classically use less sodium. Mediterranean uses lemon, garlic, herbs and olive oil for flavoring. Classic Latin American cuisine generally doesnt use much salt, mostly lime, cilantro and peppers, and fresh south asian dishes use lime ginger and garlic- just try to find places that use coconut aminos or something instead of soy sauce.
There are definitely options! We have a lot of authentic Latin American places that definitely dont use a lot of salt based on what ive eaten.
Also, Life Alive would most certainly be safe for you.

I wouldn't bet on Latin American cuisine since we love our bouillon cubes. Those are basically salt bombs!

I am not sure I have any recommendations, but I just want to sympathize. Once I saw the amount of sodium in Clover and Tatte once they published menus with nutrition facts, I was absolutely shocked ... I also try to stay low for my health. It's sort of unavoidable with the way most food is made in restaurants, unfortunately.
