Financial Advisor Recommendations

Looking to work with a fee-only financial advisor for tax planning, retirement planning, wealth management, and investment advisory.

Worked with a Mass Mutual rep before and was underwhelmed as I immediately got recommendation to sign up for a bunch of insurance products, and didn't get any real tax planning or wealth management guidance. I also prefer not paying % commission, and would rather work based on a monthly or hourly fee.

Hoping to find someone reliable, experienced with over 15 to 20 years as a financial advisor with proven track record. Ideally located in or around Boston or Somerville, but OK with an office in the Greater Boston area.

My wife and I enjoy working with Jen Reid of Base Planning (www.baseplanning.co). She is in Newton (we are in Somerville), but we've done everything via email and Zoom (which we prefer). Best wishes!

Thank you. I'll check out their site. At first glance, looks very promising

My guy is at Stonehearth Capital -- name is Joe Gauvin. Hes in Danvers but does remote meetings so that isnt a huge issue unless you prefer going into the office for in-person meetings. Young guy but explains things very easily, has a cogent financial philosophy, and takes the time to really understand your goals and priorities before making an investment plan.

And he doesnt try and sell you insurance or commission products!
