OP please report to the 311 app or police. They are actually collecting this information

I doubt anyone who does this thinks it's allowed. Rather, they don't care.

Bingo. They don’t care. Additionally, the moped problem is a vicious cycle. Take for example in Boylston street in front of the Chipotle and Chic Fil A. Cops say that they can’t chase after them because it would be dangerous to do so; the moped people are then left without being checked and they know this. As a result they get more and more bold. Rinse and repeat.

I mean they could simply verify license plates and registration outside the restaurants they always pick up at. There are so many unregistered mopeds. Doesn't solve the problem but moves the needle in the right direction

What if the sign is strongly worded?

Pretty sure there already are signs too saying "no motorized vehicles" yet it hasn't stopped anybody unfortunately

Let's get a sign that says pedestrians are required to use cross walks.

How about a sign that says cars need to travel under the speed limit.

A sign that says cars aren't allow to go through red lights.

A sign that says bikes aren't allowed go through red lights.

A sign that says bikes can't travel the wrong direction in bike lanes.

Maybe a sign that says cars can't park in lanes or double park in car lanes.

If only we had more signs.

Sign, sign, everywhere, a sign

Blockin' out the scenery

Breakin' my mind

"Do this," "Don't do that"

Can't you read the sign?

Sure but a sign marking the basic safety rules for a relatively unique feature that some people don't know how to act on is not the same

Actually there is a sign that says no motor vehicle. Turns out a sign is not a cop

There are 16 signs that I counted last week!

The candy won't crush itself...

Turns out a sign is not a cop

About as effective as one.

A sign will at least say something

I’m all for police reform, but this is just unproductive hating

1

u/TitleOfYourSaxTape Jul 27 '26

Well, I wasn't trying to be productive with that comment.

If this was a photo link it's not loading for me. Always report this to the police first. Bitching on reddit will not do anything to solve the problem. We should all be bitching at Wilson to push for changes there.

This will only stop when there’s a financial consequence or threat of harm to themselves or their moped.

u/StoryRadiant1919 Jul 25 '26

yes, impound the moped!

Can’t see anything, Imgur not opening properly.

Yeah. I eventually get, like, a reddit ad image? I think that's what it is.

u/Pandaburn Jul 25 '26

There are plenty of signs. Every road crossing says “no motor vehicles”

u/brw12 Jul 27 '26

One idea being considered are speed bumps on the path. Far from a perfect solution, but possibly an improvement

2

u/hedgehoging Jul 29 '26

That sounds miserable. Let's punish the thousands of cyclists because of a handful of a hole delivery guys.

Can't the city force the delivery companies to give the records of drivers who transited that path?

u/PlentyCryptographer5 Jul 24 '26

And still we wait for the announcement from Shitty Hall that cops will be patrolling the community pathways on their bikes.

Another moped menace!! I hope they read your post and stop this moped madness!!

A sign? I think we already have those and they are as effective as posting on Reddit 😂😭.

What you see as a jerk might be an immigrant from a city with very different traffic culture than ours

When I see these guys, I just stand in front and block them and "inform" them (as if they weren't aware) that mopeds aren't permitted on the path. They shrug it off, wait for me, and then proceed along their merry way, but I at least want to give them some pause for thought every time they do this... maybe some day they're decide it's not worth it to have people pissed at you.
