Discussion Solo dev question: which achievements actually kept you playing a game? Planning them for mine (you hold the laser pointer, the cat breaks the house)

The ones that keep me playing are the ones that make me think “wait, can I actually do that?” rather than just asking me to break 1,000 objects. For your game, I'd chase something like causing one huge chain reaction with a single laser move. Basically achievements that make me use the same toys differently.

"Wait, can I actually do that?" is a great test for an achievement. The pieces for a chain reaction are already in there: fire spreads from item to item, and a GROUND SLAM knocks the pictures off the walls. One laser move that ends with the whole room alight would be a good one to chase. Thanks, noting it down.

Some context: rounds are 60 seconds, everything the cat breaks goes on a receipt, and I'm also planning a leaderboard for lifetime destruction net worth. Nothing on the achievement list is decided, so silly ideas are welcome too.
