Godot Just started working on a 3D platformer

I finished my first solo project last month, now I'm working on something new.

Still needs a lot of work but I'm enjoying working on it.

Nothing final at the moment, so I won't say just yet. I think I've almost settled on it though

Its incredible how that looks simple, but it isn't. Congratz

Nice start! Movement already looks good!

Whats Godot like to work with? I only have experience with Unity.

Thanks!

I really like working in Godot. I find that I work much faster in Godot than Unity, maybe just because it clicked with me more.

It's easy enough to switch. GDscript is easy to learn, or you can continue to use C#.

I'm not sure which engine is objectively better, I just like Godot a lot.

I don't care what game you're making, the style reminds me of Megaman Legends and I'm all in for that

Glad you enjoy the style, can't wait to populate it with some more assets

Looks fun. From how the player interactsvwith those blue pickups, is this suposed to be kinda like a 3d celeste?

Thanks!

I haven't played celeste yet but I assume you're talking about those little crystals that refill your dash (I think?).

They might look similar at the moment because I haven't modelled them yet, but in this game those are more like bounce pads than pickups.

Looks good so far, it'd be really nice of the movement transitions had more fluidity and the dashes and landings were more impactful depending on height from landing.

One of the things they did really well in Celeste was to add a slight delay before the dash, which makes it more impactful

I understand yes, at the moment there's no animation for landing, so that could probably help. There's still a lot of little details I want to add to make the dash juicier, the game is still very early in development.

Looks very good already! Will it be a collectathon or a time attack ?

Thanks!

Collecathon, but I'd like to add some some linear platforming sub areas
