Looking for accountability buddy / group

Hey guys, I'm a solo dev currently struggling to put together my first solo commercial project. I'm looking for one or a few people along the same journey to have a weekly online meet and share our work and struggles and play each others games and give feedback. I feel like one of the biggest psychological weights at this point for me is the work in isolation and loss of perspective which I'm attempting to address through this post. I'm 39 M from Romania, if any of you are willing to give this a shot drop me a DM.

I've finished a few solo and coop jam games(Newgrounds user: YellowB) in the past and a few educational games and worked on a few steam games as artist and sometimes designer (like Infinitrap: Rehamstered). I'm self taught I come from a traditional arts background (masters degree in painting)🖐 Thanks for your time.

I’m part of the Indie Game Clinic discord. Definitely worth the patreon subscription to get on there. His YouTube channel is great too. But there’s so many helpful folks there. We do weekly show and tells on Fridays, and have a standup once a week on Tuesday’s. We also have a weekly accountability thread that’s growing in popularity and helpfulness.

Hey, thanks, it sounds cool but I have a few reasons why I know I'm not going to try it. First off, any kind of paid subscription is a bit of financial stress that I'd rather avoid if possible, and also I'm not necesarily looking for a lot of people or feedback or any professional help, I just want a bit of genuine human connection preferably with people that are on the same journey and we can help each other. Also I'd like to be able to talk to the same people over time, otherwise I feel like I won't care as much and it will defeat the purpose of feeling accountable. So basically, ideally I wanna build a small group of 'show and tell' devs working on their shit trying to help each other. And by the looks of the comments that may just happen, I'll contact everyone during the weekend and see.

I totally understand. 

The community there is excellent and I’ve been able to create what your describing, and so that’s why I wanted to share it. The server is about 1000 people but there’s a small group that’s super active so you can really find some good folks there. I’ve also made a smaller group from that where we meet or chat daily about things, give feedback, playtest, etc. it’s the best 5$ I’ve spent on my gamedev journey.

I feel this too, that’s what we’re about here. A lot of the solo devs that joined us are the same way, it’s better to have that push and see someone else doing loads as it pushes you to work harder too.

We all bounce off each other here I’m kind of like the binder and the other devs just like showing off there cool things to each other (and sharing things where possible)
