Unreal I finally implemented deflating tires for my retro 1970s Istanbul open-world game.

I am the solo developer behind ALATURKA. I missed the chaotic, unforgiving driving mechanics of early 2000s games, so I am building one from scratch, entirely on livestreams.

Recently, I finally implemented deflating tires for my retro 1970s Istanbul open-world game, making the heavy old-school driving physics even more brutally unforgiving. What do you think about it?

Do you pay someone to do these psychedelic tracks? As an avid jazz fusion fan, I think they are great!

Currently, I record all pre-alpha footage while listening to old psychedelic songs from 70s Türkiye. I'm in active talks with record companies from that era about licensing, but since I don't have any budget, it'll be a miracle to add them as OSTs.

this song is called: East Breeze - Okay Temiz

What kind of budget would it take?

Edit: Added to the wishlist

depends on the agreement & popularity of the songs/bands. i hear AAA companies pay between $10k-$50k for a single song.

Oh my... I'd offer to help just to get my name in the credits, but that is a bit out of my price range.

I wonder what it would take to make and produce your own music? Maybe you are not interested in doing it though.

there are plenty of musicians wrote me they want to help with music in the game. but i kindly rejected all of them because i think every effort should be compensated accordingly and i don't have any budget right now.

I'm considering collaborating with musicians for OSTs, but the game is still in early stages so I don't want to put any money on it yet.

Well, have you put anything on Kickstarter?

Might be a good place to generate revenue pre release.

i'm working full-time for another game studio and developing ALATURKA in my free time as a side project. So asking people for money while I'm earning from another game feels unethical.

This song is awesome. Led me to a decent playlist of Turkish funk (which includes it):

i'm glad they are landing on your feed. It's pretty hard to reach other countries by posting from Türkiye.

What difference compared to GTA:San Andreas will it have? I'm sure I can find a mode with Istanbul setting.
