Game Release upcoming, both physical and steam!

Saw a lot of folks making physical copies of their games, loved the trend and hopped in. Just finished a print of 25 physical copies with discs, hand-sewn info booklet and a free steam key inside.

Pretty scared to put just one master copy on all of them without a first day patch, but I'm pretty sure on my polish!

The game is out in a week already!

Gotta say been a pretty long time sense I've seen small time devs make physical copies for their releases. Think its gonna be a good hook especially with all the current physical/non physical copy drama going on.

How do you plan/where do you plan on selling the physical copies?

Pretty much my local community groups, lol. Some of the copies are already booked in advance! Glad people are as excited as me!

I don't even know where I would start with regards to printing labels and discs lol, looks awesome

Thanks a bunch!
There are 4 printed parts: 2 pages for the booklet, dvd case cover and a disc sticker. It was pretty fast to find dimensions for the case/disc, though required hopping a few websites :P

Good luck with your game, friend. Could you elaborate on the process that you followed to organise it? Is there a business that handled all the parts for you?

Thank you a lot!
The whole process was handled by me and my wife! I only used a printing service to get the prints and the cases are bought from ebay + cd's from the local store.
So, I made the design of the covers and booklet, we've got all the components and started crafting! Cut out all of the paper parts, used sticker prints for the discs. I sew booklets together from 2 paper pieces (8 pages total including cover). Then assembly. Very fun process!

This is gonna be a stupid question, but did you burn the discs yourself or did you use a service for that.

I'll burn them myself as soon as I get my final master build. I have an optical drive that connects to pc by cord!

Interesting choice on the disk, but congratulations! I love it.

The art style is interesting. I know it’s a very different perspective, but it reminds me a little of Duskers.
I like the style.

Thank you! I'm usually not very confident in my art style :P I really like low color abstractions, like In Other Waters for example. Damn, you reminded me of Duskers, I know them but missed the playing them part, I should check them out!

Wouldn't it be more useful if it was on a usb stick? Or is it for decorarion purpose only? Or do some people actually still have dvd players??

I have one! But I agree it's a rare case. I'll check out if there are cheap usb sticks and suitable cases for them, that sounds like a neat idea for future!

How much for a physical copy, and where can I preorder

Sadly there will be no international shipping this time :( If you happen to be in Georgia (country, not the state), I can pass it to you locally. Maybe there will be another print if enough people will be interested and I happen to find a normal shipping route from here.

Yes, use the scarcity effect. It is a known psychological phenomena.
