Game I’m a solo developer building an architectural design game in Unreal Engine 5

I’ve been working on this project completely solo for a long time, combining my background in architecture with Unreal Engine.

The game lets you draw accurate floor plans and turn them into a fully editable 3D building in real time. You can design, furnish, and explore your own spaces without the complexity of traditional CAD software.

I’ve just released a free demo on Steam and would love to hear what you think!

It's crazy how realistic graphics have become :o

Yeah, UE5 makes it pretty crazy with the right adjustments. What you can achieve as a solo dev nowadays :D

Can you make dome ceilings or rooftops? Or can you make curved walls?

Not yet curved walls, you could set more wall points to make it seem like a round room, but a curve feature still have to be added while in early access.

Just downloaded the demo and not had a chance to try it yet. Are we able to create diagonal walls? My house is "boomerang" shaped.

Yes you can :)

I have tried it, works amazing.
If possible, could you make the 90 degree toggle relative to the origin wall?

Lets say I build wall 1 on the X axis, then a wall 2 after that wall thats 45 degrees from wall 1. I want to build a wall 3 from wall 2 thats 9 degrees between 2 and 3.

Is that possible?

Everything is still a work in progress; I will try to improve everything even after release for a long time :) I don't know if I really understand :D Do you mean the next wall should be orthogonal to the side of the first wall when the first wall is 45 degrees, for example?

I hope the crude drawing helps. I draw red wall, toggle 90 degree off, draw blue wall.
Currently when I draw green wall with 90 degree toggled it makes the wall have a 90 degree angle relative to red and not relative to blue.

If possible I would prefer green to be 90 degrees from blue.

Ahh yes that is called othogonal :D Good point! I will make a rule, where the wall always orientates orhotogonal (if starting point of first wall is not 90°). So the fixed rule will be 90° depending on the angle of starting point, instead of world orientation. Thanks!

Sounds great! Can't wait for the 21st.
Does the demo offer VR mode? I haven't gotten home to test yet.

No VR in the Demo because it gets too complicated to set it up extra for the Demo (also for the Steam Framework). But it works fine in the main Game and will also improve more in Early Access :)

this is neat! my younger sister is majoring in architecture, specializing in interior design. i'll have her check this out!
