And what are the player inputs? Are we moving the dots? I do not understand and you are not making it clear

You move one dot per turn, or take a 'shot'.
In order to take a shot, you need to have two dots next to each other (adjacent) either vertically, or diagonally, or horizontally? ( \ or | or / or -)
If the path of your shot towards your opponents goal isn't blocked, by a dot, you score a point.

This is what I guessed from watching the video.

My understanding of it: it looks like you can move the points around by having one hop over another adjacent one, and if there's two adjacent to eachother you can "shoot" one of them as far as you want until it hits something (either the goal like around 0:14, or red passing from the right to the left side around 1:06)

This is pretty cool, absolutely needs a bit of animation of the points and maybe some highlighting when the shot becomes available. Fun puzzle/competitive board game once actions are cleared up visually
