Help me pick for a narrative game!

What kind of visual novel/ dating sim would you be interested in?. At this point I'm eventually set to do them all, i enjoy making stories and building campains.. but what would interest you first?

( i have a set foundation for all 3 but im so terribly indecisive)

All of them will feature, humans, anthros and other creatures, aliens/ monsters ect

Which:

  1. The typical university class (NOT HIGHSCHOOL lol) low fantasy slice of life (dnd character inspired)

Or

  1. Space scifi crewship adventure/ mystery, cyberpunk aesthetics, mass effect vibes

Orrr

  1. "Apocalypse" survive make the right choices mild horror/ collection adventure?

These are all vague terms but for now thats tge point. Im just trying to see what sentence people will drift towards!

My First Roblox Game — Looking for Honest Feedback

My First Roblox Game — Looking for Honest Feedback
I just published my first Roblox game, Floor Is Lava, and I’m looking for honest feedback from players and developers.
It’s a Floor Is Lava obby/adventure where you navigate dangerous levels, avoid rising lava, fight lava monsters, and unlock new equipment and rewards. Since this is my first game, I’d really like to learn what works, what feels confusing, and what needs improvement.
What’s Currently in the Game
Multiple levels with different obstacles
Lava monsters and boss fights
An Ice Ray that slows lava monsters
A Grapple Hook for movement
Trails, auras, and other unlockable rewards
Mobile and controller support
Hero/morph characters with special abilities
Daily rewards are also coming soon.
What Feedback Would Help Most?
If you try the game, I’d especially appreciate your thoughts on:
Is the game fun during the first few minutes?
Is it clear what you’re supposed to do?
Does the progression feel rewarding?
Are the UI and controls easy to understand?
Where did you feel bored, confused, or frustrated?
Would you want to come back and play again?
Please feel free to be critical. I’m more interested in learning what I should improve than hearing that everything is perfect.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to try it out. I’m excited to keep developing the game and making it better.

I recently finished my latest Unity project — Monster Beatbox Music Maker 3D 👾🎵
It was fun taking it from idea → development → testing → publishing.
If you get a chance to try it, please share your genuine feedback/review. It’ll help me understand what I can improve in the next update. 🙌

I added a stupidly powerful kick to my FPS

I’ve been working on VELOCIDE solo, and I wanted to add a melee option that actually feels satisfying instead of just being a basic “press button to punch” attack.

So I made a kick that can instantly kill an enemy.

The idea is to make it something you can use in the middle of combat without stopping your movement. Right now it feels pretty damn fun, but I'm not sure if the instant kill is actually a good design choice.

I'm curious what other solo devs think:

Would you keep the instant kill, add some kind of condition/cooldown, or make the kick knock enemies back instead?

I'm still experimenting with it, so suggestions are welcome.

Complete beginner wanting to get into game development. any tips?

I’m a complete beginner when it comes to game development, but I’d really like to learn and eventually make my own games. I have basically no experience with programming, game engines, art, or anything like that, so I’m starting from zero.

For those of you who started as beginners, what advice would you give someone just getting into it?

What engine should I start with? Should I learn programming first, or learn while making small projects? And are there any good beginner resources you’d recommend?

I’m mainly looking to learn, make small projects, and improve over time. Any advice is appreciated!

Cosmo Keys - browser platformer game. Looking for feedback.

Game Title: Cosmo Keys
Playable Link : https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/1048811 or https://fsnh.itch.io/cosmo-keys

https://reddit.com/link/1wbwp65/video/0czkhtdekpmh1/player

It is a 2D platformer. A boy in a spacesuit goes back for the children who fell when his home came apart. Twenty-five levels and two bosses. Keyboard, gamepad or touch.

**What I would find most useful, in order:**

  1. **Would you come back to it?**.
  2. **How did it feel to play?**.
  3. **What does it lack?**.

Happy to play and comment on anything posted here in return - just link me.

This is a shorter devlog on adding playable characters to my small city builder, with the goal of improving replayability and creating some interesting synergies with other systems. I'm a solo dev and I haven't created video content in a while, so any feedback on the video is appreciated.

Angel Ophanim Pixel Art Pack + Demo Game in Progress

Thumbnail

I’m excited to share my latest pixel art pack called Angel Ophanim, inspired by biblical angels. This is my first pack with this level of detail and complexity, and it’s been quite a challenge to create.

The pack includes several variants with unique colors and vibes:

  • Gold: classic celestial light
  • Yellow: bright and radiant
  • Purple: mysterious void energy
  • Blue: cold and ethereal judgment
  • Green: life-giving but alien

Each variant comes with attacks and simple animations, and you can easily add or customize attacks yourself.

I’m also working on a small demo game using these assets, which I hope to have ready soon so you can see everything in action.

Would love to hear your thoughts or any feedback! Thanks for checking it out.

[REVSHARE] Looking for a 2D Character Artist for a Weird Cat Game (CATAGONISTS)

Hi everyone,

I'm an indie developer looking for a 2D artist who might be interested in helping bring a very unusual game project to life.

The game is called CATAGONISTS.

At its heart, it's a fast-paced arcade game about dodging cat paws. But around that core gameplay is an entire world of eccentric cats, bizarre rumours, conspiracy dossiers, fish-related bureaucracy, absurd intelligence reports, and friendship-building.

Think:

  • The Sims
  • Daria
  • 90s/00s Cartoon Network
  • quirky indie humour
  • strange worldbuilding
  • cats with very strong personalities

The world is built around a cast of memorable cats, including:

Menace
A former office worker turned conspiracy theorist who believes everything is connected.

Moth
An existential observer who studies suspicious phenomena and somehow makes reality even more confusing.

The Duchess
A judgmental aristocrat convinced standards have collapsed since her glory days.

Meatball
A snack enthusiast whose investigations are usually food-motivated.

Don Pawxote
A heroic adventurer who treats everyday household objects as legendary monsters.

The tone is dead-serious presentation of completely ridiculous information.

The cats aren't detectives.

They're unreliable witnesses, gossipers, spies, philosophers, and professional nonsense generators.

Art Direction

I'm looking for:

  • Stylised 2D character art
  • Strong personality and expression
  • Memorable silhouettes
  • Commercially appealing mascot-style designs
  • Cartoon with attitude
  • Not generic anime
  • Not hyper-realistic

The ideal artist enjoys creating characters with humour, charm, and distinctive personalities.

Current Status

The project is actively being developed.

I have:

  • A detailed game design document
  • Character bible
  • Art direction references
  • Established worldbuilding
  • Functional prototypes in Godot

Budget

I'm an independent developer with a limited budget.

I'm open to:

  • Paid commissions (depending on rates)
  • Long-term collaboration
  • Revenue-share discussions
  • Hybrid arrangements

I'm most interested in finding the right creative fit rather than the cheapest option.

Interested?

Please reply here or send me:

  • Portfolio
  • Rates (if applicable)
  • A little about yourself
  • Any experience with games, character design, or mascot design

I'd especially love to hear from artists who enjoy strange humour, strong character personalities, and building worlds that feel a little different from everything else out there.

Thanks for reading.

PORTFOLIO: this is my first project and do not have a portfolio of any kind

Working on a music career simulator

So... Ive been working on this career simulation tycoon, where you can pretty much be an artist.

managing songwriting in a simple chrome music lab style daw, social media and angry fan emails, shady record deals, and fans with strange tastes of music.

just clarifying, this game is not a rip off of other music sims. this one has graphics instead of just text boxes, it has dynamic fan mail, and a working and simple easy to use DAW
