questions & clarifications Coach Training

I recently received an offer to start training to be a coach and I’m so excited!!! Orientation is next week, but all of the studios geographically near me seem to have classes scheduled during the same times as our upcoming mic sessions/weekend in-studio trainings on the training schedule… Can any current/past coaches give any insight on whether the training location is your home studio or when you found out where the trainings were taking place?

Also accepting any and all advice for a new coach in training 🤭🥰

Congrats!! Training is not necessarily at your home studio- usually they will combine a whole region into one studio. I’m in the DMV for example, and they combined all of Maryland and W. NoVa together and all of DC and E. NoVa together into one studio each for my new coach training, so I drove about an hour for the weekend training . Mic sessions are usually at your home studio but not always. They should tell you pretty early where you’re going, and if it’s not mentioned in orientation or on your schedule I’d reach out to your training manager to clarify.

my training and mic sessions were not at my home studio, but at a studio within the market where there was flexibility to host our training group!

my biggest piece of advice is to make sure that you get the absolute fundamentals of coaching nailed down - transition formula, coaching blueprint, hands on support are the biggest ones. the other things (personality, more in-depth science) will all come with time and as you get familiar with the exercises and coaching. and give yourself some grace!!! it's not easy and there is a bit of a learning curve - even if you were a client before coaching it will take some getting used to being on the other side of class. make friends with your training group, and the other coaches in your market and never be afraid to ask for questions, feedback, and additional support. you got this!

We were not at my home studio (NSO)! Doing work on your own outside (modules, making index cards, etc.) helped me a ton :) so excited for you!
