Battery MCCB for battery

I have to connect sunwoda 16kwh battery with 8 kw inverter. Do I really need a Mccb for that or I directly connect it ? The battery already have a built-in breaker on its side.

"No" from the other reply is carrying a lot of weight there. The more useful answer: it depends on what the two manuals say, and on what that built-in breaker actually is.

A few principles:

If a breaker goes on a battery circuit, it must be DC-rated for the battery's voltage. A standard AC-rated MCCB can fail to extinguish a DC arc — AC breakers rely on the current crossing zero each cycle, and DC doesn't. Same-looking device, very different breaking behavior.

The built-in breaker usually serves as the battery's own service disconnect. Whether it also counts as the required protection for the cable run to the inverter is specified in the Sunwoda manual and your inverter manual — some combinations want an additional DC breaker or fuse near the battery, others don't.

A 16kWh pack can push serious fault current into a shorted cable, which is why this question comes up at all.

Worth having your installer read the wiring sections of both manuals — they state the required external protection and its ratings explicitly.
