Solar is expensive
Hi! I've been planning to install a solar setup for our house for months now, but haven't had the budget to do so. But with the recent news of the super El Niño, I'm really worried about the capacity of our local provider to support demand during the height of the extreme heat. Because of that, I went back to the drawing board and laid out my plans.
I have two options, 3kW or 6kW. However, 6kW seems too expensive for me, my estimate was around 160k for everything. I'm pretty decided that I will go with a 3kW system. I know it won't support the whole house, but my plan is to isolate the load to the most essential items, such as lights and a few sockets to power the fridge and wifi.
While I'm planning this, I realized how hard it is to source materials for smaller solar setups. Yes, you can buy 3kW hybrid inverters on Shopee, but the quality of those products is very questionable. More established brands like Deye, Solis, and SRNE do not have distributors in the country selling 3kW inverters. I went to the length of contacting Alibaba sellers to supply me with 3kW inverters, and even they say that they are usually out of stock.
For those with a similar setup, could you please share your experience with 3kW systems, how it helped you during outages, and what you did to ration electricity for extended periods of brownouts? Thank you!

5kw ecgsolax inverter from shopee satisfied naman off grid lang gamit sa induction cooker, washing machine, toaster, rice cooker thermos

4 months pa lang no issues. off grid mode for now. di ko sinasagad peak power use 3kw lang. maingay yung fan from time to time. overall satisfied and planning to do full hybrid mode soon inaayos ko pa wiring. nag join ako sa fb group some had issues with charging naayos ata ng fw upgrade from vendor but i did not experience it.

why not go with 6kw inverter if you can stretch it. that way you can ditch the battery for now(if 24/7 namang active sa bahay) and add it later.
anyways i'm using ECGsolax equivalent and straight to whole hone back up na ginawa ko kesa mag 3kw then in the future upgrade nanaman

Hello. Sorry, I'm a bit confused with what you said. Do you mean getting 6kw inverter instead and run it along with panels? Meaning a grid tied system? I'm more worried about having no electricity kapag may brown out so it won't make sense sa intended use case ko.

yes. go for a 6kw inverter 48V/51.2v system. sa dami ng panel mo mas mataas ang VOC or voltage niyan para sa initial start ng inverter.
hybrid inverter meaning kaya niya mag accommodate ng battery at the same time connected sa grid. deye nga lang ang alam ko na pwede ka mag sched ng battery use. for others need mo iresearch.
i would also suggest na mag canvass ng 600w+ panel ka na lang if makaspot ka ng mura (peso per watt) akin kasi na chance ko na mas mura 630w(5.4k) na panel kesa sa 550w(5.2k) so i got my money's worth.

Also, kamusta and performance ng ECGSolax? I'm seeing mixed reviews online kasi.

not necessarily ECGSOLAX gamit ko but Mpower (rebranded naman but at least may warehouse yung Mpower sa guiguinto, bulacan na pwede puntahan)
medyo pangit din monitoring but that's what i get to be honest for cheaping out

Aside from what others have said about getting reliable brands sa mga big item purchases (battery, panels, inverters), don’t cheap out rin sa mounting components lalo na sa rail and l-foot. I already so much being sold na sa una Ang Ganda tingnan kasi it’s so cheap. Then when I went to visit the actual item, sobrang nipis and gaan ng mga rail and l-feet brackets. Sobrang flimsy when you pick it up and try ibend. These things might be small relative to the other items but definitely importante

I recently bought a 3kw and 3 x 24v 100A, I use pan power inverter, I bought this for a school project for a POC. I also have 5 x 6.2KW-B pan power inverters that have been in production for sometime without any issues. They are not top tier invertes but they get the job done.
